Honestly I think es are no problem now especially when Road runner just popped up with a retail without a cold bug........

Very nice. .might want to try 1 core with hyperthreading to get the 28 multiplier.. Then maybe 7ghz???? Keep pushing.. Nice score... Wish I had a decent board... UD7 is coming in the matter of days for me

It's been a little rough the past month.
Had 2 bad P55 Classy boards come in the mail. Killed 2 5870's from a bad soldering iron.. I have had to develop patience... lol

I should be getting my classy board back tomorrow, so I will report back on my Q3FE.
Its never been tested under cold.

Yep.. I should be able to get more out of her... I get my classy back on wednesday.. then its 980x, R5870, ln2 action... oh yeah....

Was able to get at least 1350 through 3DMark06 on 1550 volts.
Honestly ran out of LN2 and was being very stubburn with the LN2.. lol..
Not to bad for a stock cards.. I think if I play with it more I might be able to get more out of it. Probably going to have to mod it just a little bit.

I honestly can't remember if mine ran at stock clocks.. I was just very amazed that I couldn't do 1000 on any extra volts.
I just setup the card for LN2 to use with an aircooled 670 I have just for testing to see what kind of clocks I can get from it...
Ill report back when I am done tonight.

Not really on air, on LN2 yes.... no where did I see that these were supposed to be posting crazy air overclocks..
If it does crap on LN2 then thats where I would be pissed... But until then, I am fine with it.. Actually pretty happy with it.
GFDuke, did you modify the bios? to get voltage control?, you would have had to flash the bios. There was no other workaround.. After burner said voltage was changed, but really wasn't..

Looks like spacers did the trick for me.
Wasn't able to run 975 on any voltage.
After spacers and some paste.
Was able to run 1050 on 1250 voltage in Afterburner.. about 1280 actual voltage from the multimeter.
So there is some hope. Ill have to try LN2.

Hardware points really don't go that far. Honestly I think that should be raised.. If you really have that much hardware points, you should be getting alot more final points...
Really what would be so bad about having a 4x cpu vantage category compared to a 6x cpu vantage category?

Most of the cards, I hear, don't do that great on air cooling.
Have you tried adding some specers between the back of the PCB and the screws holding the heatsink?
What are the symptoms of the 'bad overclock'?
Spacers?? Thinking putting more pressure on the chip will help with cooling??
Might try that... Waiting til next week when I get my x58 classy back from RMA and Ill throw it on LN2.. This card should be able to hit 1000 on core without a hitch.
I guess the card is just a marketing hype... Makes me think before I buy another MSI product thats for sure.

Because then there would be like 1-2 entries for each ranking:p
But this would open up potential for more points to all levels..
And we wouldn't run into just 980X holding all of the records.
Just wait til the sr2 comes out. Its going kill most of the 3d benchmarks.. and no one without will get any boints... just a thought.

The problem with this is in 64 bit windows GPUz will not read the proper speed.
So then 32 bit windows would have to be a requirement.
