  1. im wondering what the last 3 numbers of a batch signify.. so, for example

    3218C021: what does the '021' signify?

    serialization code unless anything has changed

    1st letter or digit = plant code (Malay)

    0 = San Jose, Costa Rica

    1 = Cavite, Philippines

    3 = .............., Costa Rica

    6 = Chandler, Arizona

    7 = .........., Philippines

    8 = Leixlip, Ireland

    9 = Penang, Malaysia

    L = ............, Malaysia

    Q = ..........., Malaysia

    R = Manila, Philippines

    Y = Leixlip, Ireland

    2nd digit = Year of production (2001)

    3rd & 4th digits = week (49th week )

    5th - 8th digits= lot number

    10th - 13th digits = serialization code

  2. I was following this thread since it started but I kept silent due to I already had faced this situation and I really trust hwbot's judgment.

    I just wanted to say that I understand that Rbuass is really upset by seeing how bad it was for us to tell the truth and see that it had no importance at all. On the other hand I saw that hwbot evolved, that it had learned something and didn't stress (apparently) those guys the same way they needed to do with us.

    I only expect that the truth always wins here and that every overclocker receive proper respect while no one proves anything against him.

    Similar hardware in similar OSes will always seems to be similar, we have to face it. The community has to be honest and admit when something is wrong, that's the expected way.

    I think with you guys in MOA it wasn't just having similar clocks, but rbuass had mentioned how it was almost impossible to get a 7970 lightning in Brazil at the time & he had to fight to get one. When you posted a score with a lightning as well it was like 'hey, wait a minute...'.

    Don't think anyone doubted rbuass, but it made people wonder where your lightning might have come from.

    The whole livestream thing might have been overkill, but nobody says anything about it afterwards so it did the job & sealed the deal.

  3. I haven't had CB or CBB with the 680L yet, although haven't gotten much colder than -60 or so. A few minutes after I start pouring I keep running into issues with driver crashing whenever it switches power states. I can get to desktop every time but just can't get any benching done on it yet.

    I'll have to see about the new bios, constant p0 state sounds like it will fit the bill.

  4. I think everyone starts off with air/water, but then if you want to keep up & keep improving you pretty much have to get colder (that's why I started freezing stuff, it is a little disappointing to be doing well in a comp then get blown out of the water when the extreme coolers put up scores). Another option would be to have a competition with separated enthusiast/xtreme league rankings, but then that would need double the prizes, or split things up, like ud7 for winner of extreme, ud5 for winner of enthusiast, ud3 for random among both or something.

    I'm sure most of us do this because we enjoy it, & would compete whether there are prizes or not, although prizes are nice & do give some more incentive to push harder.
