0. Introduction Since Sandy Bridge-E, we now all know how the 3DMark11 Physics subtest does not only scale well with threads, but also scales very well with memory frequency. Ivy makes memory clocking very interesting again, so why no have a little memory tweaking entertainment using the Physics subtest?! 1. LCC rounds Since 3D11 Physics is stressing all cores, it might not be so easy for everyone to run 5GHz low clock, I suggest we get three rankings: 4500 MHz LCC (join link: http://hwbot.org/competition/ivy_physics_lcc/stage/681_45gp_-_3d11_physics/'>http://hwbot.org/competition/ivy_physics_lcc/stage/681_45gp_-_3d11_physics/) 6000 MHz LCC (join link: …

Does anyone happen to have the OC Key firmware for the Maximus V Extreme. You can find the firmware of the Rampage 4 Extreme from asus website BUT not the M5 version. If I'm correct, the version for the Rampage 4 Extreme is 1.0.0.3 and 1.0.0.5 for Maximus 5 Extreme. Would help me a lot! @slamms @Leeghoofd @TerraRaptor @Smoke

Hello guys, I have "problem" with overclocking Dominator Platinum 2666 C10 kit on UP7. IMC in my 3570K is crappy and I know it but I was able to boot only with 2600 multiplier and not with 2666. On UD5H and PSC kit I was able to boot with 2666 multiplier with the same 3570K and witnout any problem. Is it because of different mainboard (tighter sub-timings?), different manufacturer of memory chips or because of my 3570K is degrading? Btw post display often says "51" but it isn't because of memory capability for sure. Thanks

So stupid question, has anyone tried to run the z77 chipset itself on dice or ln2? I mean I assume it wouldn't help bclk OC much at all if any, and it'd probably cold bug before the cpu. Does any one have any info on this? I kinda want to try it at least for the lulz, but if I know for example that it'll cold bug at -60c that'd be helpful going in.

Hello, I question to ask you; today I tested a 3770K @ LN2, Maximus V Gene, but fullpot failed to go beyond 6066mhz. I tried various settings Vcore voltage (1.55 to 1.875). I was wondering if there was a specific VPLL value (optimum range) to be set (I did various tests, from 1.63V to 1.84V) no results. If anyone has any advice that I can give, I would be very grateful. I have recently again up and are firm since 2008, so excuse for my inexperience on the new CPUs Forgive my bad English. Greetings Zannema

My 3770k have 2 cores there can do about 6.7-6.8ghz and 1 core there can do 6.9-7.0ghz and one core that can do about 7.2ghz i did se a cpuz of 7.239ghz but system crached. So is there a Tool to select which core you will use to clock on?

I bought a i3 3225 second hand for country cup this week and at first it worked as it should. I installed XP and all drivers needed rebooted an set bclk to 105 saved and rebooted after that it got stuck at code 62 on my m5e. I tried clearing cmos and even took the battery out for 24 hours but it still got stuck on 62. My 3770k workes fine in the same mobo so that should be fine. Any ideas what could fix this or is the cpu just dead, if so, why?

PC-Watch published a test few days ago about changing the TIM on Ivy Bridge CPUs. 5-10°C better was the result. But what about LN2? I tested it for you! My test is based on the test of PC-Watch: IHS removal, change the TIM and glue the IHS back on. First I tested the CPU on air to see the changes. To show the full profit I used LN2 aswell. Step 1: Pretesting on air Setup: Intel Core i7-3770K GIGABYTE Z77X-UD3H 4 GB G.Skill 2133 9-10-9-28 Scythe Katana 3 Gelid Extreme der8auer Fusion rev3 For the test on air I clocked the CPU to 4200 MHz at 1,224 Volt and tested for 20 minutes using Prime95 large FFTs. To avoid mistakes I mounted the Scythe Kat…

Hi people I had a frustrating bench session today. I was testing my 3770K i got back from RMA for 4c/8t stability to run 3DMark06. I used Cinebench as a baseline stability test so I could see what the CPU would AT LEAST be capable of for 06. The chip scaled awesome, doing 5993MHz at only 1.55v for Cinebench with LN2! At 107x57 it froze. I rebooted and tried again, bumping the voltage to 1.6v with no luck. The rest of the session I tried different blck and multi combinations, different temps, tuning secondary voltages and vcore up to 1.7v, and disabled HT, it would just not go more than 6GHz. Later on I even ran 5900MHz 06 CPU test at -80degrees 1.55v…

Something weird with my setup. Z77 FTW works ok with e.g. GTX 580. But when I put one of my HD 7970 there is no image at all. 7970 cards work ok with another boards. When I put GTX 580 and change "Fast PEG Initalization" to "off" and then switch card to HD 7970 I got an image, but board always hangs during booting and nothing can be done. I also tried switching PCIe to GEN 2.0 and disabling Intel GMA, but it didn't make a difference. I checked all official BIOSes: 1.10, 1.12, 1.17, 1.21 and 1.22 - still the same issue. I am struggling with this for hours... I guess it is something with PCIe settings, but I have no idea what to change apart what I already change…

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could help me here. With my Sabertooth Z77 recently suffering an unfortunate death, I went ahead and bought this from a friend for quite a cheap price. I figured it couldn't be that bad, right? Wrong. No matter what I do, or what CPU voltage I set, it does not actually set. Before, I could also set a 63x multi with stock voltage - obviously not possible! The CPU is a 3770K which is known to be a good overclocker. It'll do 5GHz on 1.325v on air. I've gone from 10.2 to 10.8 in BIOS revisions and nothing helps... If anyone can help me here, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sick to death of it and I am about to …

I like to open this thread and welcome you guys report incompatible issue with your own memory with GIGABYTE Z77 motherboards. Here is the basic settings, I tested many 2666/2800 modules and stress more than 100 hours without error. Let me explain somethings about ivy-bridge 1. CPU internal PLL: Allow to open the internal PLL voltage to go higher, but how high? and what's the default PLL voltage, this is part of Intel NDA, can't leak. What this function be open help? CPU total frequency be improved once you enabled this option by pass IMC 2800, help your chip doing DDR3-2800MHz if enabled this function. 2. IMC: 2800 for every chip? Yes, …

Hello, I'm copying this from KPC forums, maybe more people will see it here. ---- I haven't used my M5F for 2 months and now when I tried to fire it up it gives me a POST code 76. Last time it was working fine - it was for the XS low clock challenge. CPU was on water and RAM on air. Then I put it aside. What I tried: - 1 stick RAM in all slots, different modules with different ICs - no ram installed at all - bios flashback with 0804 and 0095 from a USB stick (renamed to M5F.CAP, hold ROG connect button for some seconds, then release when it starts to blink) - reseat cpu - GO button I don't have another cpu to test, but there are no bent pins in th…

Hi, I'm looking for a new motherboard dedicated to overclocking and gaming. The motherboard is preferably ATX, and has the least memory latency/etc. I will be buying it with the Microcenter 3570K discount, so it also needs to be on microcenter.com. My budget (pre-discount) is about 180-190 tops, and the Maximus V Gene looks ideal, but is mATX. Anyone know of any other boards that are ideal for this situation? Thanks in advanced.
