  1. Some ppl here in Brazil came up with one doubt about the prizes. Just to make it clear, the ticket goes to the one with the most points on the sum of all stages or it goes to the winner of each stage??

I understood that it is only for the higher average score in the three stages but some ppl understood that each stage will qualify someone to represent hwbot on worldwide finals. I'd like to make everybody sure about the rules ;)

    Thanks!!

    EDIT:

One question without much sense that I'd like to ask: by the rules we are obligated to use x50 ratio, so if someone wants to use x49 it will be against the rules, isn't it?

  2. but the tests are still the same for every cpu.

The test is for everybody the same.

Only a amd will perform better in another sub-test then a sandy bridge for example, but the test is still the same for everybody.

    That's the main thing

But don't you think that getting the result of a different subtest as final score for each cpu is kinda unfair?

Anyway :) we won't get to any point here, I like the bench and that is what matters for real =)

  3. for everybody the same test,

everybody has another cpu, just like Wprime, Superpi, every cpu will give another score, just like UCbench.

Wprime, Superpi pifast are all also the same test for everybody, so will be with UCbench.

I think I didn't make myself clear. What I wanted to say is that this test doesn't uses the same calculation method to every cpu...

SuperPI, Wprime, Pifast uses always the same exact iterations to find the result. UCbench doesn't do that. It uses different methods for different cpus by default.

  4. I like it, I just wanted that the rules let us choose to run only the test that gives the best score.

example: only selecting to use 8 threads and sse3 with a 2600k, or 3 threads and sse2 with a amd x3... The score is based only on the best run anyway so it could be really good to let the OCer to choose the test he wants to get validated instead of making us run lots of tests that doesn't take any part on the final score.

The validation already works that way but the rules seems to tell us to not choose anything else but the stock options...

    EDIT:

Other thing I like about this benchmark is that it is the "only cpu" benchmark that makes my system get the highest power consumption among lots of others "only cpu" benchmarks.

  5. Just a question: Is it mandatory CPU-Z Screenshot on CPU-Z submissions?

I could not submit my cpu-z score without putting some image on screenshot field.. I've read the rules again and I didn't find it...

I've got that java error already posted here by other users until I putted some image on screenshot field.

I'm sorry if it's already fixed. I had this issue on Sunday.

Phenom X2 555 with no option to select the number of cores ... super pi

    WPrime etc.

    ranking have a choice .....

but to send the results have not .... ..

Já foi aberto um ticket de suporte eles vão arrumar a falta da opção dos cores

  6. Ok, I know that you can SHORT pins 6 and 7 (with a mini screwdriver) on the primary BIOS (the pins across from the pin marked as 1 with the marking) to force the board to boot from the backup BIOS instead.

Try this first and see if it works.

If it doesn't, then try shorting pins 6 and 7 on the backup BIOS.

One of these should make the board boot.

I think the problem is that if you only crossflash ONCE, there are some bugs that C_N found out over on xtremesystems, and a few others found out too; namely, that PLL Overvoltage doesn't work, and the board doesn't seem to save voltages properly (or maybe initialize them) until it is powered off. You have to reflash a second time (a non modded BIOS? Not sure if you need a non modded BIOS or not, but it's safest NOT to flash the modded BIOS a second time) for this to work properly.

If you used a modded BIOS to do the crossflash, and then flashed THAT code to the backup with alt-f12, I could see how this could kill the board.

Also keep in mind that the B2 UD5 has a hardware flaw with LLC that is not bios correctable--it was corrected with the B3 board only.

You've almost saved my life! Thank you very much!!!

My board come back alive.. after shorting the backup bios it posted normally, then after a reboot it noticed some checksum bios error and done the swap again, but this time the system works flawlessly with F3 bios. THANK YOU!!!! \O/

  7. i'm using the official F3, but I tried also F2b, my friend Mafio tried F3d: nothing changes between them.

The biggest problem, anyway, is that you can't POST at any bclk above 101MHz, so you need to enter the bios, set for example 52x101 (with 2133MHz ram multiplier of course), save and exit, set 101,5x52, save and exit, then 102x52 etc...etc... until you get in the 106/107 area, suitable to bench.

Remember, never shut down, only reset, because if you try to shut down you can't POST, you'll need to clear cmos and re-start with the loop I described above.

If someone has other solutions to this issue, it'll be welcome, but this is what I found with the last bioses, no matter what of them you use, the problem is still there :)

My UD5 always worked that way.. it's really a painful process

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it as soon as possible and try to get back to my old and good F7e bios...

I Crossflashed a non modded B3 bios, I think that that was the issue... But if you say that B3 Bios gives unstable voltages on B2 boards there's no use to me at all..

    Thanks again!

  9. You can solve that problem?

Which BIOS you installed first to the backup BIOS?, I think if install the F3di first, then swap BIOSes and then install F3 into main and Swap again should not be any problem...

Sure, I think that if I've done that it would be ok.

But I tried to swap from F6 (at the backup) to F3 (main) =(

But damn, I can't find no one with that BIOS chip for sale... =( My board is dead and the BIOS sellers that I know doesn't have this chip...

  10. Just a warning for those using Gigabyte's B3 bios on B2 boards:

I successfully updated mine to F3. Every thing was fine until I had the great idea of trying to update the backup bios (expecting that if something went wrong it come back to a B3 bios instead of an B2). After the bios swaping process MY BOARD "DIED" :( It doesn't post, doesn't make any beep, with or without CPU it doesn't start anymore...

I bought some dice for trying good scores for initial K contest and I stopped before using any of it just because of this great idea of messing up the backup bios before benching...

I'm just sad now.... I'm really dumb :( for realz :(
