Yeah was hoping for better, this chip should have clocked a bit higher than my other score too. Not that it can compete with Luumi's new 3570K anyway, so need to bin a ton more now anyway haha

my x99 champion came with a second mounting mechanism that had through holes. The rods for vince's pots fit no problem with that.
Checked my box had no such mounting mechanism

The backplate on lga2011/2066 is M4x0.7 threads which is the same as the mounting rods elmor uses. Vince uses 6-32 rods. Did you check if the larger m4 rods will fit in the Trex top? There might be enough clearance, I'm not at home so can't check/measure myself.
If you want you can modify the backplate to fit the 6-32 rods, and it will still work with M4 mounting for a waterblock ect. I did this to three mobos without issue. Remove the ILM/backplate. Drill the holes out with a 3.55mm drill, then chase the threads with M4x0.7 tap. Reinstall the ILM/backplate. The 6-32 rods will pass through, and standard m4 mounting posts still work. Just be careful with the m4 stuff as the threads are pretty shallow (weakened). Obviously do at your own risk, I assume no responsibility for any damage
Thanks for the advice, I may end up giving that ago ?

Ooofff regular Volcano on X99, sounds like a recipe for disaster? Even on 7950X it can struggle a bit in the heavier benches.
Yeah wanted to use my Trex but the rods didn't fit. The volcano rods are thicker and fit the socket.
Not sure what anyone else did on this board for mounting a pot

Nice work! Guess I'll be revisiting again haha Had similar problems last time I ran crashing on screenshot, quite annoying!

Amazing CPU! Great work, guess I'll have to get back to binning 3570K again lol

Amazing chip! Nice work

Congrats! Great score

Thanks, chip clocks well. Will try on y UD5 too however I found my 965 didn't clock as high on the giga board, but my 32m efficiency is better

Tried again on the Asus board. -90c and CB. Tried increasing PCIclk and running 1:4, made no diff unfortunately :(
-
Tbh I didn't know NB had CB. Figured it was just CPU. Will try again with some PCIe CLK, see if it helps. Was quite low, was getting CB at about -90c
