They are many who use more than 2 cores in 2001 as well,do ypu have an explanation for them ?
Bud,there are different opinions,you don't have to get angry if somebody has one different than yours.
Try whatever you see fit,but at a certain point you have to test yourself the theory.
Btw,3dmark 2005 it works perfect on 2c .

Also 2001/2003/2005/Aquamark you need only 2 cores.

if you have to bench in 2006 ,choose 4c and higher frequency instead of 8 and lower speeds.

what cooling do you use and what temperatures you have in full load ?

you can deactivate Ht and leave it only on 2 cores,maybe like this you can pump another 100-200 mhz.Good luck !

that's why i like low clock challenges,because you have restrictions and you have to work more on your tweaking part.
Nevertheless great frequencies and result,as you colleague said,a little more tweaking and it's WR.

it's not the same,4850 on air/water at 1 ghz it's very rare.I have 2 4850 toxic,neither achieves this frequencies,with full hard mod.
FlashG he uses chiller in his waterloop ,hence he should be '' promoted '' at extreme overclockers category.

any ideea how well it clocks on air/water ? (4870)

what is the trick with this benchmark ? how can a 920 plus 7950 to have almost 7500 points difference compared to a 3770k in 5.3 ghz and 780 ti at 1350 mhz ?

Basically it's gonna be the same thing again.It will not be about the "poor" people who can afford a i3 and a low end graphic card ,because even in that division somebody ,who has ln2 cooling on both ,it il win it.
Woudn't be better if you make a better differentiation between enthusiast league and the others ?
For example what is on air/water not to be compared with the results off extreme ox/pro-oc league .There are many submissions(3d) where the user use special cooling on cpu,but air or water on videocard and you see the result on the Air/water category,of course you cannot compare with that....
You have 38183 enthusiasts,in my opinion this is the segment on which you have to work on,in order to attract many more.

The arguments against enthusiast cooling competition are wrong.Some of the best oc-ers from enthusiast league are not living in Siberia or areas with cold temperatures.If you want to to something,to have good results there are many other factors which will be decisive in winning an enthusiast competition.
I am living in Cyprus,the coldest temperature in here in the last 4 years was 5 degrees Celsius(in my town).This doesn't mean i cannot oc anymore,or have good results.
There are solutions to get under 0 degrees for watercoolers,without waterchillers,peltiers or other forbiden stuff for the enthusiast league.
With a submersive waterpump which you can put in a bucket and add antigel + ice cubes(from the freezer) you can obtain temperatures up to -17 degrees Celsius(depends also on the ambient temperature).
Basically the idea is,if you want good scores you can obtain them even without cheating.
For doubtful submission you can ask for a video in which it shows a similar result and you can see as well the cooling used.This will apply for unbelievable scores,obtained by newbies,not for people which already proved in time what they can do,as poparamiro ,for example.

you should test them properly before you sell them.It's not a rule that lower vid's are better..I know somebody with 4770K that has 1.040 vid and the processor still works on 5100 with 1.4 v.

Genieben has 2 from me.they are capable of 4600 + mhz on air with only 1.53v.and 1.51.good luck.
