cooling is one "problem", binning another... you´ll never get a "perfect" contest...
-
but xtu excludes all amd-users, like some "rookies" complained
a perfect enthusiast-challange isn´t possible.
i think the current warm-up challanges are ok for most overclockers. some might use ln2, but most (including me) don´t. it´s to expensive to waste it for old hardware like that.
-
integrated gpu of course is allowed, too. why not?
-
what says cpu-z to your cyrix III? normaly it´s automaticly detectet as via c3. so there should be no problem...?
-
or special old-school competitions. ln2 on pentium 1 or rage 128 is pointles
but that kind of hardware isn´t even close to "enthusiast"
-
@d3mox: hardcore challange:
stage 1: final reality
stage 2: aquanox
stage 3: 3D Mark 99
all limited to pentium 1/AMD 586/Cirix/IBM 5x86
stage 4: 3D Mark 2k voodoo full out
-
@zeropluszero: don´t be afraid, on team-cup comes real old hardware like pentium 1 and voodoo II
-
cyrix III = via c3, isn´t it? Ö_Ö
but cyrix 6x86 is ibm, not via, right?
-
200k?
not bad

anybody an idea why the current version of cpu-z (1.68) doesn´t work on my k7 anymore? after installing the system it worked normal...
i just removed the slower of my rams and rebooted. since than only older versions work. i´ve downloaded and reinstalled the current version several times but it had no effect
when i try to start cpu-z the pc freeze...
i can´t make a txt-file because there´s no way to start cpu-z -.-
the system: http://valid.canardpc.com/3px0ir

yeah there aren´t to much current manufacturer of gpu...
because of that i like the classic competitions with non-nvidia/amd...
-
@robbo2: i like the idea of changing the required hardware often, so there is no binned hardware and everybody has the same chance to win.
-
old? only k7 an pentium II are old, for the other stages u need the newest hardware...
i like the idea. so u don´t need to much money and everybody can compete
-
@Aleslammer: oh, i misunderstood "...I’d probably go with a S3 Chrome 540 GTX..."
sry my english isn´t so good
congrats to hellas
-
he´s so modestly...
-
u really have a 540 gtx? =O
not bad Ö_Ö
i also can´t compete. the xabre600 is best i have for this stage .__.
-
Stage 4: chrome 25 vs. wildcat 800?
might be interessting
whats the best non nvidia/amd-vga?
-
on cusl2 and my other 370 the normal version works
-
not bad =O
congrats

voodoo ftw! :woot:
-
why no agp-only?
so real cool classic cards like voodoo 5 are chanceles against modern s3 .__.
i´ll try agp anyway >.<
apart from that a nice fun-competition
-
happy birthday :celebration:

what´s about Linde as sponsor?
i guess they provide nearly all overclockers in germany with LN2
and what could be a more interessting promotion for LN2 than an extreme overclocking event?

A meet this big would require to find at least a couple of partners ...thougt it would be more easy to find partners for such a event because it is so big?

@BennyDragonheart: it´s because win8 makes wrong results. for hwbot u allways need win7 or older until ms fix that problem with win8.
