Interesting fabric clock, is the CB better or did you had to bin a lot to find this?

Well done! Very good efficiency!

Thanks!
I will get back to it when (or if ?) I recharge.

He had 5650 all core, mine was 6550 1 CCX and 6575 in the second, so for the same score is ok to be second ?

Under load is -184C, from fullpot that was around -188C, and that is weird, cause I usually get -192 with this setup, probably for the very high soc voltage I used to get to 1600 fclk

Here you go: https://hwbot.org/submission/4362768_hardware_numb3rs_y_cruncher___pi_1b_ryzen_7_3800x_38sec_473ms?recalculate=true
Took me 8 minutes, almost the same score as the other, and I may improve it tomorrow, I never cheated in my life and never will.

well it was only you and some other user that had these discrepancies...
I'm trying to understand where the discrepancy is coming from but I'm getting my brain fried over this, so better to use that time to bench it again

well let's do a small calculation on that one:
Y-cruncher says it finished at 14 past the hour
Your screenshot is made at 30 past the hour and HWinfo was running for 10 minutes, so I suppose HWinfo was NOT running during the run as you fired it up at 20 past the hour correct ?
That's weird, since I usually set the windows like you see in the screenshot and I do the runs only after that, but if the issue is this, no problem, the bios profile is saved and I'm sure that I can replicate it, or even get it better since i was 60mhz lower than the limit, not that the frequency matters much here, it's all on the ram tuning.

just to give it a spin, but it it will be removed from the benchmark list after these challengers
make sense... I just saw my ycruncher sub does't appear in the competition anymore, bug or something wrong with the sub?

I've noticed that Parallel PI is kinda super random, may I ask you why it has been chosen? To me it looks like more a lucky run farming than a "optimize your platform" type of benchmark, am I wrong?

I tested every memory setting I could at 3133, 3200,3333 and 3600 in preparation for cold. My 3133-3333 memory is all the same in the end, with no benefit in timing changes
Still today I put it back on ambient to test more and yet another day where efficiency went down the toilet. It almost feels that if it’s working well, you have to go cold straight after or you lose out.
One reboot can make a change that you cannot get back. If AMD allowed access to RTL or IOL it would be far more beneficial for us.
not really sure why I tortured myself with it again today, but I guess that’s what 32m does to people. Time for a rest
I’ve found that let it retrain with cold helps a bit, especially when there’s a restart at or near fullpot, probably something change and sometimes is for good, since the stability after a cold restart usually improves.
Bios have various features hidden, something to try would be find what trigger those features, like playing with blck and dividers, but for a bit I’ll take a break from this, I’ve like 30/40 cpu from socket 939 to sandy bridge to bin ? -

FYI. When I started my session the other day, I was having some strange BSOD happening (was a voltage in the end) but tested 1566/3133C10 setting at 5.5g and was at 6m15.9s.
weirdly, I was checking my efficiency at -20 when I started and found that I had lost 0.6s to 1s at 4.5G from the day before. Spent maybe an hour with warming and trying different ways to retrain and couldn’t recoup that missing time. Moon phase or day can really make a difference.
I had a 3600 profile set to test too but LN2 was limited. Also when trying for 1667FCLK moisture under the CPU came into play and ended the day for me, I was warming to -60 just to boot by that stage which was fraught with 00 and 07 code reboots. If I had another 50L on hand I would setup again and retry.
I saw that the temp alone matters for the flck stability, and therefore efficiency, I think there are still a lot to uncover with Zen2 to get the maximum performance, testing at ambient is pretty much useless since the paradigm change completely with cold.
We can't say it's a boring architecture
I will keep study with the cascade for some weeks before going LN2 again.

@Hardware_Numb3rs Does having both CCDs enabled mess with efficiency?
Don’t think so, like Karta wrote SMT does, but regarding the CCDs, you hit way higher clock with only one, and if your fastest core is in the first two blocks of the remaining CCXs (2+2) is even better, since right after the flck also the CPU frequency matter, and I’m my case, the second CCD is pretty garbage ?
-
I’ll post some screen later but so far I was able to get like 6:15.xxx at 5450MHz with flck at 1800 and ram at 3600 C11
At -96°C (cascade)
The importance of the flck is clear, maybe a sub 6 is achievable only with 5600/5650 if I can maintain 1800 flck around -140
next recharge I’ll try ?

Good news.
But what about if we only use a USB keyboard?
I don't think is possible to integrate the correct usb drivers for the setup, I'll try, but my expectation are very low on that

Hey I am interested too.
What drivers do I need for setting up a win7 system for 3600x on a x570 mobo?
I'm working on an ISO/Image for Ryzen (Zen1, Zen+, Zen2 and APUs) compatible for all the chipsets, so far the best way is to install it with a DVD and ps2 ports, but I can make an image so you can do it with clonezilla.
I'll post the clone when done

For what I've seen, the recipe for the sub 6 with a Zen2 is:
- flck at least at 1566 (below that I wasn't able to do it even at nearly 5900MHz)
- a CPU clock around 5750
- Ram at 1:1 C10 with tight subtimings (and stable)
- A well tweaked Win7
- A well tweaked bios (especially with the llc settings for both CPU and SOC)
- A strong waza (can give you up to 4s)
- Patience of a saint
- Some luck
- a state of the art insulation that can hold a 3+ hours session (especially in the ram section)
The hardest part is to balance between the flck CB and CPU frequency, if you don't have an alien CPU capable of 1600+ at fullpot there's a tradeoff between the two, with a focus on flck.
I'm doing some test with the cascade, since I can run Spi32M at 5450Mhz and 1800+ flck at -96°, this is where the clock start to be inefficent at low flck.
A deeper analysis will follow with screenshots in the next days, at least for who want to try this with a minimal base to start.

Congrats! I knew you could do it! ? But don’t get too comfortable in that throne, I’m coming for you ? Such a pleasure when you have a worthy opponent! Well done! The spi saga continues!
ROG Crosshair VII Hero LN2 BIOs?

The CH7 the latest bioses are fine, if you have CB at -170 try to raise SOC voltage in a range between 1.40 to 1,6V but try first at 1,4V and flck at 1400, raise step by step the flck until the CB, then raise the soc gradually to 1,6 and if the CB persist is just the limit, if it goes at 1.6 raise again the flck to the max limit, then do the CPU frequency limit at full pot with the flck value you found.
Always keep the ram at 1:1 for best results, for 1600 flckI use 3200mhz C10 or C11 ram
