  1. Installed 6.0.2.8 yesterday on Win7 3570k and why is watchdog not available in this version ?

    When you try to apply OC you get pop-up window saying it not feature anymore .

    Edit: it doesn't remember OC on next boot either , this version busted for me , my bios is exactly same as was before installing it (Asus Z77 PRO )

    Back to 5.2 and all is well , funny the BM worked for me in 6.2 but everything else with saved OC didn't (no watchdog ).

  2. When I open XTU it shows what my processor speed and voltages are stock. Is this correct? I figured it would show my Chevy settings in the right side panel beside the stock settings.

    Yes, if you go to profiles, or manual tuning , over on the right you see defaults , this is settings from bios , not necessarily stock settings , whatever you set there .

    Then to far right of that (proposed ) would be settings or values you are running or going to run in XTU .

  3. Notebook Asus R510JK, MB X550JK, Bios American Megatrends X550JK.303, Processor i5- 4200H, WIN 7 64, Driver Nvidia 344.75, Intel video 10.18.10. 3960, XTU 5.1.1.25. Before Nvidia update the monitor read the frequency and active count, but the bench not. After nvidia update, neither the monitor read the frequency, and the count nr. Weird...

    Was that update from Asus , I would check there, sometimes just installing Nvidia latest is not best for portables

  4. Seems version 5.1.0.22 is out ,maybe this will fix the issues BM not running .

  5. I get this error when trying to install xtu for my evga 790i ftw sli board was wondering what msi package im missing or if xtu wont work with this board.

    I could be wrong, but don't think Nforce MB is supported .

    From the FAQ

    Will this work on my system?

    The Intel XTU sofware application will work on any Z77 and Z87 system, provided that the mainboard BIOS supports this application. There are different levels of BIOS support, going from basic support of the benchmark, over medium support of on-the-fly overclocking to full support with fully compatible online profile sharing. Certifications for compatible XTU mainboards are being issued on a per-board basis by the HWBOT Test Lab. For more information, please visit our XTU support page.

  6. XTU loves to give my cpu an extra 100mhz which means as soon as i open the program the pc instantly bsod because its running too fast for that voltage

    How is XTU setup , are you running a profile at startup . It should not do anything just starting XTU till you load a profile or make changes and apply them .

    I have noticed a bug in XTU monitoring frequency graph, If I run say SuperPI and what the frequency graph and value it does go above my clock speed for a sec or so.

    example, I have all cores set to 42x , blck@100 , so max clock is 4200 but at times it says 4300 but no other software shows this ,CPU-Z, HWinfo64, HWmonitor etc .

    Also this happens in XTU Benchmark to now that it lists max temp and max frequency , I get 100+mhz listed .

  7. Ok, i accidentally disabled CPU integrated VR faults on my laptop and after restart there is no option to enable it back. So how do i enable it? There is no option for this in bios. I tried reinstalling Intel extreme utility but nothing.

    Do you mean this ?

    Intel® Integrated Clock Controller Service - Intel® ICCS

    If so its a service ,so look there and set to manual (default) .

    Not sure if laptop gets different software loaded .

  8. I'm not an overclocker and my processor is locked. Even though, I was running XTU and was having some fun with it. Why not? It's fun to see how far your machine can go, even if you're not "in the business".

    I am doing the only thing I'm able to do: raising (a bit) the reference clock. And I was just about to do what I should have done since the start: to lower my RAM frequency in order to have more room to raise the RC.

    But it seems that XTU does not want to play anymore. Watchdog driver stopped working and, much worse than that, now the program always says that my settings "could not be applied". This happens even when I use the most conservative settings (say, RC = 101,52 instead of the last working settings: RC = 103,47).

    I have already uninstalled and reinstalled XTU, and I'll do it once more but this time I'll try to clean manually the registry.

    BTW, XTU keeps showing my RAM @ 1866, but I have configured it in the BIOS @ 1600 MHz and this was double-checked.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    i7-4771

    DZ87KLT-75K

    bios 0450 (latest)

    Windows 7 x64

    XTU 4.4.0.4

    Are the two Intel services running , XTU and Integrated clock controller ?

    DID this happen after newer version ?

    I though even locked processors can up the lower clocks with all cores to highest , meaning in your case all cores running with 39x , not great OC wise but better than nothing .

  9. .sys files are not shown unless you enable the Explorer option "Show System Files".

    I have that set to show system files.

    I checked the log files and all seems ok on install .

    Update: On trying to find anything as to why it thinks it needs to be updated , even though it is updated .

    I ran CCleaner registry checker and it came up with one error

    Uninstaller Reference Issue C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)\Uninstall\setup.exe -uninstall HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{3FD0C489-0F02-481a-A3E1-9754CD396761}

    Looking at registry point it looks like it looking for setup.exe in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)\uninstall" folder or it is just bad reg string .

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{3FD0C489-0F02-481a-A3E1-9754CD396761}]

    "DisplayName"="Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)"

    "UninstallString"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Intel\\Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)\\Uninstall\\setup.exe -uninstall"

    "Publisher"="Intel Corporation"

    "EstimatedSize"=dword:00001428

    "NoModify"=dword:00000001

    "NoRepair"=dword:00000001

    "InstallLocation"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Intel\\Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)"

    "DisplayIcon"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Intel\\Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)\\Uninstall\\setup.exe,0"

    "VersionMajor"=dword:00000000

    "VersionMinor"=dword:00000000

    Could also be false positive with CCleaner but looks like something is wrong (either reg string or not having setup.exe there .

    That is all I could find .

  10. I just noticed a new version available 4.4.0.4 , was on 4.3 .

    Updated through XTU auto updater , rebooted and with new version 4.4.0.4 it still says new version available and yes it is new version .

    I set it to ignore 4.4 version for update .

    Also on Intel watchdog timer driver

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel® Watchdog Timer Driver (Intel® WDT)

    Should there be driver in the folder, mine is empty except uninstall folder, no other files in there .

  11. Installed 4.3.11 fine, I exported all my profiles but seems I didn't need to do that ,all my profiles were saved fine .

    I like the uninstaller/installer , seems well thought out , I had already set profile back to defaults but you get popup asking you to do that (very good idea for newbee's ).

    I didn't try app link OC feature but profiles and OC seem fine .

    Have to give BM a try , I used to get random errors there sometimes .

  12. I am running 4.2.0.8 and tried auto-update , it DL ok but got error can't install cause it failed authenticity .

    My question , I DL the 4.3 is it ok to install over (haven't tried and probably won't let me) but have not figured where profiles are saved to .

    I rather not have to setup all of them over again .

    Edit: readme states that old versions can't use auto-update with 4.3 , you have to manually install it .

  13. I'm pretty new to this software. I did a successful benchmark. When I tried to upload, so that I could analyze etc, system simply said go to your open browser see your uploaded results. Went to browser, nothing there. On the video for XTU, as soon as the guy hits upload it immediately opens the browser and allows him to analyze. This is not happening with mine. I have latest version of XTU.

    Can anyone work out what is going wrong?

    I also noticed that, after the benchmark test, the only thing open for me to change were processor settings and all of those are greyed out. In other words, I can't change anything. I have a Core i5 and a P8P67 Asus MOBO with two GTX 460 in SLi. These don't seem particularly obscure yet the software is allowing me to change nothing....

    Anyway, I enclose a screenshot. Hope it helps.

    It now says "Analyze functionality is not supported for your system" (after I updated the BIOS). Again, I don't think my system is that obscure. Any ideas?

    The pic you posted is just system info , that is normal look .

    You should have menu options on left top . Manual tuning, Stress tests, Benchmarking and profiles , Since Asus pushes Asus suite II/III in manual tunning you may have limited options to adjust .

    On my P8Z77v pro only have blck speed, multipliers for core and additional voltage for turbo cores .

    As for problems after bios flash , try uninstalling XTU and reinstalling back, maybe that may help .

  14. Want to report or add to what I posted above .

    All the test I ran before and BM worked , I had FF running and I just did more testing on this with these findings on my system .

    Run XTU BM with FF already running , BM works .

    Leaving XTU open and closing FF aftwards and then run BM , BM works .

    Closing XTU and FF , and opening XTU and running BM, no good error

    So it seems I need web browser open for it to work (initialize ).

    I try same thing with IE11 but I can not get XTU BM to work , it only works with Palemoon (FF browser) .

    PS: I have Palemoon set to default browser .

    Win7 64bit Pro , SP1 all updates , IE11 , Net 4.5.1 , no Java , ME 9.5.10

  15. So maybe the ME package in the 4.2.0.8 installer has some issues? Because ME 9.5 is included in the 4.2.0.8 installer.

    for me 4.2.0.8 installed ME 9.5.10.1658 , this is on a P8Z77V-pro with 3570k .

    I don't know what changed here that the BM seems to work 100% now .I didn't update ME or any major HW drivers ,other than a vid driver update but that can't be and a update on 4.5.1 net (doubt that did anything) .

    This is a 24/7 system ,so it gets windows updates but no driver updates through windows update .

  16. ME 9.5.10 (what installed with XTU 4.2 seems to work fine .

    I did have issues of benchmark giving error when trying to run it but last week or so it has worked each time .

    XTU OC and profiles work here . I don't have a lot of options (blck , turbo multi , turbo additional voltage ) but these work fine AFAIK .

    This is on Win7 PRo , SP1, 4.5net (latest updates )
