wow, crazy chip there mate!

This is what the introduction says:
Y-Cruncher is a program that computes Pi and other constants to billions/trillions of digits. It currently holds the world record for the most digits of Pi ever computed (13.3 trillion digits) as well as a bunch of other less popular constants.
Y-Cruncher is also the first Pi computing program that can a) use multiple threads for a worthwhile speedup, b) use (and stress) an unlimited amount of memory and c) utilize ISA extensions (SSE, AVX, etc...) for nearly all modern processors. Y-Cruncher owner Mysticial developed a GUI that can run and submit results to HWBOT. This competition is to best test the submitter. More information in the forum thread.
Does that help?
Ahh there it is! Posting a link so other blind people might find it aswell

Where can a blind user find more info about this competition? cant find it on competition page?

I don´t think so, Pentium M780 would be OK, but we agreed on "real 478" and 479 sockets which includse these iirc.
http://hwbot.org/hardware/processors#key=s478
http://hwbot.org/hardware/processors#key=s479
T7600G is not included because this is socket M, no matter how many Pins it has^^
Correct, only 478 and 479 CPUs allowed.

This is the score we hoped for in country cup
-
great score on water! How come you use tras 11 instead of 5 as stock?
-
Didn't get any additional marks for overclocking agp 4x to 88MHz. I think agp 8x is not necessary. Or you get some positive numbers?
Win2k is really a must. Few weeks ago I installed W2K and forget about XP. Used it only to define max clocks.
I gained like ~200 points when going from 66 to 95MHz agp and it allowed slightly higher mem frequency for some reason.
This part about win2k however had I totaly missed, guess I have to try it out sometime

Been waiting for your result and this is nothing less then amazing, shame we didnt get to see that 20k+ score
-
Grats on WR master!
-
Wow! you just destroyed stage2! Amazing score!
-
fsb 400 it is possible)))))
Time to motherboard modification....
That was with a ic7-max3 if I dont remember wrong tho. But go go, max this Asus card aswell
-
Holy.. thats one amazing score!
-
Boom! Great score there
-
great score Rauf!
-
Ouch, someone got hacked i guess?
-
Ahh, thats some wierd error and sucks that you cant use bios..
Ill get some paint today or tomorrow, will be interesting to see if I can get some life out of the adapter in my Asus commando.
-
I see you got it working, grats on a good score
-
Get something proven to work.
I prefer good old Permatex Quick Grid (rear window defogger repair kit).
I had a packade of that during the socket A time but thats long gone, tried to get away cheap this time and it failed badly.. time to see what I can find in the stores around here instead now. Some car repair company must have something like that Pemratex atleast.

Finaly recived my tube of conducting glue/paint from ebay to get going after 4 long weeks of waiting and its not working.. the conducting pain isnt conducting at all

If you start the comp as a novice, you will be allowed to finish. This has happened before.
What if I sub as an enthusiast and gets moved up to extreme before the comp ends, would it still count as well?

Nice one, always fun to see some oldschool TEC runs! Bought some TECs myself to try out, havent used one since 2004 or something
-
The point is not that interesting - The point is that disturbed the whole beautiful picture of the season
1999 year - 1999 desktop processor (socket). 1999 desktop videocard. 1999 3Dmark
2000 year - 1999 desktop processor (socket). 2000 desktop videocard. 2000 3Dmark
2001 year - 2001 desktop processor (socket). 2001 desktop videocard. 2001 3Dmark
2003 year - 2003 notebook processor (socket). 2003 desktop videocard. 2003 3Dmark
2005 year - 2005 desktop processor (socket). 2005 desktop videocard. 2005 3Dmark
For 479 can be a separate competition. Or a new mixed season (such as was the season 1)
And the point is that in other rounds is forbidden to use adapters, but here on the contrary - in fact forced.
Socket 479 is what alot of us overclockers used back then in our desktops just like alot used XP-M CPUs for socket A, and most of the results in stage 3 will be made with XP-M CPUs that are.. notebook CPUs!
About adapters, I dont think adapters have been forbidden in any stage, just that this is the first stage they made sense to use. Like you could use an adapter to run your 478 cpu in a 423 motherboard but it makes no sense as a 478 motherboard is beter.
The competition is simply about runing the best avalible hardware at any given time, and that meens mobile CPUs for socket A, 478 (and most likely 754). I actually expect to see some scores with a 478 cpu run in a 775 motherboard with adapter for this stage aswell
Maybe we should make season 3 adapter madness?

Can I rigth understand that allowed: all S-478 P-4 cpu's, and S-479 cpu's with Banias and Dothan core?
Yes, easiest way to say it is: If the CPU is included in any of these lists its allowed.
-
Pentium M + AGP?
It is not Old School - it is exclusive school
IMHO round is not thought over
PS or I am mistaken and all vice versa - very good is thought over
As the designer of all the stages this competitions is a combination of what I wanted to bench and what other wanted to bench aswell as things that havent been benched much in competitions before.
And tbh I dont really understand the problem here, a 479 adapters where common at that time and if you dont have one they costs like $15 with pretty decent availability, compare that to the slot A stage where and the chanse to get hold of a Slot A thunderbird for example!

Maybe a long shoot, but does anyone here have the Asus P4P800se 1009.004 beta bios saved somewhere?
Or maybe some other sugestion for relevant bios to try on my P4P800-e Deluxe that allows changing multiplier with this Dothan CPUs.
