  1. After some quickie and rough testing this 4770k is much better than I've had before. When i say rough testing all I've done is adjust the Core speed up one at a time and adjusting the Vcore to suite. All run on XMP settings for the ram, so i might even been able to drop V a little with tweaking of the other settings. This is my second from the batch L312B515 and so far seems in line with some of the others. Although i wont know what this will scale like like under cold. So i started the Vcore @1.15v and this was good to 4.5ghz. Then at 4.6ghz it would make the run halfway through wPrime 1024 and PI32M and BSOD. As mentioned above maybe playing with the other settings 1.15v might be possible for 4.6ghz. So i bumped it too 1.2 in bios and no problems. Just going to play on other settings and get the efficiency dialled in @4.5ghz, then maybe push Cores more tonight as it's getting a bit warm here in Brissy. This is good for me and might not compare to some of the pro guys obviously, but in saying that i'm very happy. Have now gone through 4.7 @1.2 also no problems.
  2. Very nice MaJ0r. Hope it scales well for you mate if you go COLD.
  3. This one got cooked from i believe was possibly bad install on my part (still learning here) although was exchanged no problems and got the same exact batch number. Also my WC gear has turned up and installed a few hours ago and leak testing tomorrow. Then i'm running my little 4340 just to test it out as it's my first go at WC. Once i'm good with that and then the real fun begins and hope i get a nice GEM like Bullants did from teh same batch.
  4. Thanks Vivi. I worked out why temps where a bit high even with the stock HSF. One of the CPU fan cables was caught in the fan so the fan wasn't running:o. Now running some 7-10c cooler lol. STill want to wait for my H2O gear and have some real fun. Hi MaJ0r, yeah it's up with the best that's for sure but it's heads and shoulders better than my first chip that died. Also in comparison to others i am extremely new to this and no doubt there is other settings that will help me also.
  5. Hey Bullant, i finally got around to installing the 4770k this morning. I've only put 1.148 through it so far and boots into XP/WIN 7 @4.3 and runs 32M nicely. Temps are a bit highish as i'm only using the stock HSF and have a funny feeling it's not seated the best. Where as my first 4770k i had to go to and past 1.3v just to boot @4.3 let alone running anything. Going to reseat HSF late today and see if temps improve or hopefully WC gear turns up. So much more potential then my other one.
  6. Hey guys still waiting on my H2O which should be here tomorrow, But so far just doing rough and dirty clocks and is rock solid @4.6 on 1.25. Which seems ok compared to other submissions on the boards, which seem to be needing 1.3+ to get that or higher. No other changes except VCore to 1.25 and XMP on Vengeanace Pro 2400C11 (better sticks coming tomorrow). i know there's way more tweaks in the bios to help but i'm still learning this board Gigabyte Z87X-OC.
  7. Thanks for that Massman. I'll keep that in mind next time if something similar happens. I'm still learning parts of the site so thanks for the help.
  8. That's certainly a bummer. My first 4770k (in heaven it rests lol, gotta find batch # sry). That needed 1.4v to just boot @4.5-4.6ghz. Then my 2nd one in my main PC would do 5ghz stable (Prime, PI & 3D stuff) needed the same 1.4v. Hopefully this new one of mine will do 5ghz at lower volts and hopefully get a little higher the 5ghz. Admittedly this won't be blasted with Sub Z stuff (for now). Hopefully my little bits of info might help the laymen like myself lol.
  9. Thanks Massman. I'll have a few moe runs tomorrow night and see if it does it again. :celebration:
  10. Sorry for the late response mate but here is the LINK to the faster time. The best time that shows is the 10.140s yet the newer time i did was 9.782s, just a littlw weird as it's the first bug i've run into. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks buddy. Only have the stock HSF's ATM (till i get some water) but if it runs @1.2v it should be safe but will have core temp running just to be safe. Will give it a run monday night to see how it fares, wish me (the chip) luck.
  12. Hey Turrican I just submitted another Pi 1M which was better and the same thing happened again. Cheers.
  13. Thanks mate for the fix. Oh and the speed of helping awesome stuff.
  14. Thanks for that Turrican, was it an error on my end or a bit of code as i just wanted to check incase i need to do anything different. Cheers.
  15. Hi There, Hopefully this is in the right place as i'm still navigating the site/forums a bit (if not my apologies). I picked up a i3 4340 for pratcice purposes and turns out some ok points to be had also. The issue i seem to have is i can logged/submit my score but it doesn't show on the rankings. There is one other showing for Pi 32M but thats it. When i click on best i3 4340 submission i get the cute little robot showing up. Any ideas? HERE is the sub (same for 1M). And cute robot,
  16. Great stuff bullant:ws:. I was lucky to get the same batch , not that i'll push like this though.
  17. Just picked up a 4670k, exchanged my Corsair h110 as i thought i would go proper WC setup on my little bench/test rig I have made. The batch number is L312B356 which isn't listed in the first post, so i thought i would mention that i got one. i won't be testing it till next week though. Is there anything (besides LN2/extreme stuff) that you guys would like to see me try with it?
  18. Thanks vivi. STill very new at this, but really enjoying the learning curve.
  19. Firstly awesome thread and thanks to everyone that is sharing/testing these batches out. I just picked up a 2nd 4770k today for a dedicated bench rig so i don't keep using risking my main PC. Based on the first post it should be good, although it isn't a guarrantee of course.
