Overclocking a Locked Workstation

Featured Replies

Hello All,

The IT Department where I work has put a block on overclocking any and all workstations. I am curious if there is (A) a back door way to get around this, or (B) anyway to unlock the overclocking capabilities of my workstation.

I can open the XTU, but most of the adjustment options are grayed out. I tried importing a new profile, but I get an Import Profile Error that says “This system does not support profiles because certain controls required to permit overclocking are inaccessible.”

I am currently running NX, Vericut, Autocad, and a couple of other CAD/CAM systems.

FYI I have access to the BIOS password too.

Yep. You need to gift some beer to admins.
