Is it possible to flash a HD 5870 into a HD 5850

Featured Replies

without killing it of course :P

It's because for our Intel motherboards reviews we use the HD 5850, and the actual tester is at the Army but he will still review X58 boards.

Other sockets will be reviewed by myself, but unfortunately we only have 1 HD 5850 and tons of HD 5870.

Yes , you can flash your 5850 card with 5870 Bios , not problem.

5870 Bios , uses more up Voltaje Core and VRAM.

I try it on my 5850 and work fine.

Regards ! ;)

^^

I know you can flash a 5850 with a 5870 BIOS,

But I wanted to know for a 5870 with a 5850 BIOS, to have 5850 specs (288 vec5, 72 units, and 725/2000 for the frequencies) and performance but on a 5870 Card

That's ok now.

I don't know it , I never try it.

Regards ! ;)
