Hardwarespecs say that the 7800GS had a pipeline configuration of 16/6 (G70 or G71 Core). But in the normal 7800GS subcategory there many results of "pimped" 7800GS aka Gainward 7800GS+ (24/8 with G71) and 7800GS GLH (20/7 with G70 and G71!!!). Because that are not normal ones and its nearly impossible to get good scores with a real "7800GS". I mean even 8800GT and 9800GT had their own categorys - wtf? Same Freq. mostly same Chips - yes there are some 8800GT with G92b and 9800GT with G92(without "b") chips.... It's important to note that this is the only X800 GTO in this review that comes factory overclocked in the sense that it has 4 extra pixel pipelines compared to the others, but the engine and memory clock speeds of all of these cards are the same (400MHz/490Mhz). From the rules, these cards must compete in the original category regardless of how they have been modified. Bios mod, volt mod or unlocked pipes all treated the same. So now the Card is displayed as an 8800GT in GPU-Z - wtf? THIS IS OKAY???? Or i modify my 6600GT to a 6200 - no Problem...no one can check this... Beside the stupid X800GTO exsample (just think about that u can unlock a x800gto but not a 7800GS^^) the Gainward 7800GS are not 7800GS - they are 7800GS+. So now kickass argument: GTX 260 - they are not official renamed - they are still named GTX 260 - Why there are seperate categories? Are u kidding me....? OCPerformance Posted April 11, 2009 Share Posted April 11, 2009 The gainward 7800GS+ GS is GeForce 7900 GS AGP clear ? she has 512MB RAM und 24/8 All first scores in 7800 Categorie the normal 7800GS has 16/6 and can't unlock. The pimped 7800GS from gainward 20/7 (7800GS glh) - cant be unlocked but still has more pipes. The uber 7800GS from Gainward 24/8 (7800GS+) - full chip, no restrictions. Also there are some 7950GT AGPs out there - perfectly fit for the 7800GS+ with 24/8. There is also a 7900GS AGP out - 20/7 pipes and nearly identical with the gainward 7800GS glh (some mhz slower). http://forums.vr-zone.com/news-around-the-web/135501-nvidia-prepares-7900gs-7950gt-agp.html Just change pimped 7800GS results in this better matching existing categories, 7950GT AGP still not existing @ HwBot?
