Posted January 16, 201213 yr Hello, What is the best motherboard socket LGA 2011 with PCI-X slot ? Thanks in advance
January 16, 201213 yr Are you referring to the PCI-X Slots, found on some Apple Power Macs, and server NIC Cards? I have personally not run across any 2011 mobos with that type of slot. There might be a couple of manufactures who do make a board with a PCI-X slot. If you don't mind me asking, what are you planning on using the slot for? Do you have a PCI-X card that you want to use? I apologize for my curiosity, I have had a few mobo's with those slots, and I always ended up using them as standard PCI slots.
January 16, 201213 yr Author yes PCI-X slots (66 MHz). What manufactures ho do make a board LGA 2011 with PCI-X slots ? I prefer these slot because simple PCI slot work only @33MHz. I have agp2x card + agp2pci adaptor (work better @66MHz). I want to run 3dmark2001se to have the best score.(look my new world record on my other thread) Anyone help me ?
January 19, 201213 yr I never thought of doing that. Awesome +1 I personally haven't seen any boards with both lga 2011 and PCI-X slots, but if I do see one, I'll send you a link. Very cool
January 19, 201213 yr Why socket 2011 for 01se ? Nice project !! Edited January 19, 201213 yr by Viss
January 19, 201213 yr I'm pretty sure your AGP 2x card will bottleneck looooooooooong before you have use for the S2011 power. Try getting hold of like a S1156 or 1366 board with PCI-X, that should be more than enough.
