dafour Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Imho i would take the numbers like they are on the box ,http://www.intel.com/products/processor/corei7/specifications.htm The with and without turbo cpuz sounds good too!(What christian said) Quote
Christian Ney Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 You do realize that turbo mode is 'just' an extra multiplier, right? Yep but only for few core right ? Quote
Christian Ney Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I was thinking about that last night and I was wrong, why split into two cathegorie, as we can submite on CPU-Z with only 2 cores of a i7 980X ( for exembple which is a 6-core CPU ). And also without HT. So as we are able to submite with the amount of enabled core we want and with HT or without. Why weren't be allowed to submite with or without Turbo mode. But the issue was : Turbo is it stock freq or not. My Answer : no, turbo mode is not stock freq, cause he will not work on turbo most of the time. And it's like an Auto-OverClocking from the Bios/chip to set an extra multiplier when we need 100 % of the CPU. Quote
Bobnova Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I say go by what's on the box. The rated frequency doesn't really matter much for HWBot anyway, if you can't OC past the turbo frequency you're doing it wrong. Quote
Brian y. Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 wow.....I actually got dizzy reading this thread....banning Turbo, eh? Quote
