  1. Before i start posting results...and to verify that zens runs are legit to lets watch a video so i do not have to curb stomp someone that accuses us ;)

    8:22 range

    8-22%20range_zpss3thbe4f.jpg

8:21 range yah ask me for subtimings on this..........Best tweak ever used to get the wee little asus b350 this fast......

    8-21%20range_zps935wr2od.jpg

    8:20 range

    8-20%20range_zpsmfonb0rz.jpg

    8:19 range

8:18 range? well you saw the video......I will hold them for now ;)

Here's one more I just knocked out before wife came home.......chased the b350 down with less power.....Agesa and subtimings my arse.

cmos battery removed tweak...balance on pci slot for better times......

Btw...my chips imc sux.....when life hands you lemons......make lemonade.

  2. Since these slackers are boring I guess me and my bench partner will go toe to toe.

One thing is for sure...like racing....objects in our mirrors are losing..

Ok Zen lets have some fun.....I know you got backups and my avatar tells people what I carry around with me.....lets see who has the bigger bag of sand here.

Lets start off small to flush one of them out.

Almost forgot...RGB tweak ftw...wait till i turn the board lights on!!!!

  3. Ok first up to show you guys the struggle with less cache......these are seriously tuned hard runs.

First one was at same settings I nailed 7:29 on 1800x

    No BS just the facts.....

    1400%20cache_zpskrydvtpe.jpg

Hammered the IMC so hard I killed a stick....I hear that's fairly hard for B-DIE

    1400%20cache%202_zpshyauri2a.jpg

After smoking a stick of 3200 bin fighting the imc coldbug I decided to go do some far more relaxing easy air runs....

    20170516_234244_zpsd0fvmwxg.jpg

Good enough for second in the LCC...not bad for a lil 79.99 clearance rack board.

Maybe getting beat by a little b-350 is enough poke and prod for people to start tuning 32m hard ;)

  4. Ok so I said 7:3x was possible @ 4.6.

Kind of sorry that I have to disappoint you but....I just decided to skip 7:3x....

Maybe this will be enough of a poke to get people to actually start running 32m and stop playing footsies with it.

Moving on to my next victims...

  5. Take the timing allowance with a grain of salt.

K7 needs some bios work if plan on using ref clock plus cold.

Those of you willing to work through its fixxable issues try "auto" for multi when using ref clock.

Use Ryzen master in windows to bring cpu clock multiplier up to a more desireable level.

  6. The good chips like volts. The good air chips usually do not and that is why good air does not always mean good ln2.

Just like i told you on xs flanker about your great air thuban chip ;)

Case in point my 1400 does 4150 cb air. -40 Cold it does 4400 cb same volts. More voltage = nothing.

These are just like llano...scale with cold hardly any scaling with voltage.

If anything binning for voltage tolerance may prove to be usefull as well as binning for -40 cold imc that does not drop threads over 2666 in prime 95...

Performance wise its not about how high the core can go....its about balance...

-40c 4.4 w/ tight as a virgin 2666 mem CB lost to air @4.150 w/3600 mem in my testing...

You can see the same thing happening in the 32m pi low clock challenge...

Zen is raping 4.6 + ocs @ 4.2 on air...except mine because im chasing a balance...@ 4.5 it would be very close between us..

Of course the balance will most likely limit your chips top possible OC...but if higher speed cpu/low ram is slower....why bother..

  7. If you notice I pulled 3 secs off time with considerably less memory speed without software tweaking ;)

    32m%207-49_zpswgsrkkeh.jpg

Above is boot run barely stable just happy it completed...cores were not really happy with 4.6.

This is r5 less cache tuned to the max run and better timings...

  8. Ok after extensive testing i have come to the conclusion that.

    1. I am not crazy yet in the sense that i have not completely lost my mind.

    2. The above run was actually very fast for R5 1400.

    3. R5 1400 is much slower due to less cache and thus needs way more memory power to match R7.

Will show an example in a few.

  9. 7:41 seems very good, I think for 4600 MHz! Whats your RAM? FlareX?

No. I won't bench hardware that i am supposed to review until it has been reviewed. Just a set of trident z.

Ryzen effeciency is an odd thing.

The above run is slow for 4.6 imo...but fast considering the temp range i am in.

Probably best to gauge like this.

    DI/cascade hardest

    Phase hard

    Ln2 easier

    Air/water easiest

Seperate cooling categories then compare by speed.

Basically people on ln2 should not be losing to people on phase or cascade...it's very possible for a good chip to beat phase at much lower clocks on air/water.

  10. Llc 1002 bios

Bios set 1.4v LLC 5 optimized phase control....not extreme ( are you on ln2? No...then do not use extreme)

    Load @ measure pad 1.44-1.45

    Load @ socket 1.40-1.41 idle 1.39.

Speculation without even owning this particular board?

    Priceless.

    Using software to monitor voltage?

    Silly.

  11. Dmm at board read points = wrong.

    Just some fyi.

Socket or dont use it as a reference because its innacurate.

    @ socket i was seeing 1.40-1.41 load set 1.40 lvl 5 llc.

Probably lvl 4 is better for 24/7.

Ignore cpu-z idle right load wrong.
