  1. Stock DDR is G.Skill 3600 Cl17-18-18 from December 2015.

The PCIe bus drops to Gen2 automatically and will drop to Gen 1 but I'm not at that threshold. It will affect transfer speeds but not that badly besides you're not likely doing 3D benchmarks on this platform any way

  2. At present highest memory divider is 3200 on only some(CHVI) boards. On top of that the subtimings are locked out . The only way to tighten sub-timings at present is to use a lower divider like 2666 and use BCLK to raise ram speed after that. That's the only way to get a mem clock like this

  3. Looking at your ambient subs with memory in mind I see you already only run 2666 likely because of the memory itself. I wouldn't be surprised since there's already and issue between it and the CPU usning LN2 just aggrevated that condition. I was using some G.Skill 3600, normally (ambient) I can run them up to 36-3700 but cold I had to drop to 2933 just to keep it booting. After I dropped speed I had no issues with re-boots eve at -180°

  4. In my testing I found that with a few reboots, I can get a nice 30-60 second bump in my 32M score thanks to the Win10 bug, don't have to change anything in Windows. I can do this pretty consistently too. Try it, you'll see. Like Mr.Scott says if your Win7 runs are better why didn't you post those ?? This had nothing to do with beating my score which I removed because it wasn't allowed.

  5. Not a criticism, just an observation. When the 0902 BIOS was released something between it and 5803 really trashed the wPrime and SPi scores. At least for me it did. I have tried everything I can think of but can't get close to the scores I got before. A full second difference in wPrime 32m is a lot and about a minute in SPi32m

  6. I figured this is a better place to ask. Taken from OCN

Most boards are not affected as previously stated, you would probably be OK. Then again there's still a slight risk that your board will brick when using those bioses with increased SOC Voltage. Up to you if you want to take the risk. From our internal tests 5803 is the best performance wise, we haven't had time to evaluate that on 0902 yet.

Is there any easy way to tell which ones are affected and if this is actually fixable through BIOS to the extent that higher voltages while benching cold aren't going to kill my next board?

  7. Well still no love but I can't blame 4.48 any more the problem is weirder than that. This is a copy from my homesite just to give you an idea of what I've been up against.

I have been fighting with this for at least 8 hours altogether and it's driving me nuts. It's the strangest behaviour I have seen in my time of benching.

The problem is when I get to a certain clock/voltage, I'm pretty sure it's voltage related since I can raise the clocks as long as I don't raise the volts but then it's unstable. But when the voltage gets to 1.6v or higher the 3DVan GUI locks the entire system when it starts to open. Just a white box nothing appears inside, mouse freezes and we're done. Hard reset with power button. If I use reset I get an FF Q_code and need to hit power anyway. This is where it gets weird. I have successfully run 3D11, Catzilla and WP 1024 at higher voltages/clocks but as soon as I open 3DVan instant lock. Now I'll go through HW and trouble shooting.

Asus CHVz have tried bios 508, 1302, and 2002 (out of the box New Board)

FX 8350 and FX 8370 both working CPUs

TridentX 2600 CL10 good ram works fine have tried different speeds and timings.

2x 980Ti SLI and single card same results. Multiple drivers between Win7 and Win10

    Samsung and Kingston SSDs

Have also tried Windows 7 and 10 both x64 installed with and without any chipset drivers or OC software

Also installed 3Dvan from USB and copied to drive with old and fresh downloads no difference in behaviour.

Only thing left to try is a different mobo and PSU but I have a hard time believing it's HW related.

I do believe it's voltage related somehow but I don't get it since other benches will run just fine at higher settings. Testing it in BIOS and OC software 1.6v seems to be the limit. Setting 1.65v in BIOS other benches run 3DVan locks up. In windows with OC SW I can raise the clocks no issue bench opens just fine. With GUI open as soon as I hit apply on tuner then it locks. With different bench (3D11) changing voltage in SW is not an issue.

It's not like there's any load on it aside from Sysinfo which I have tried different versions of as well as the HPET on or off no difference.

I've never been so stumped on somethng like this and any help would be really appreciated

  8. That's odd though. This is an out of the box Win7 SP1 no changes or disables services with CPU/GPUz, 3DmarkVantage and PrecisionX installed. That's all, everything works fine until I install Sysinfo 4.48. Just remembers TurboV. I'll uninstall that and see. It's the only SW that isn't manadatory and works low level

  9. Last night I was trying to run 3DVan for stage 6 and I swear every time I installed Sysinfo 4.48 it totally ruined everything. From GUI freezing at launch or CPU tests refusing to start. It was just 3DVan too. I installed Catzilla and it ran fine. I spent a couple hours messing with it and finally had to give up before I threw something. I think I need a full OS install AGAIN! I really don't see the point of having to jump through hoops for this when running Win7 or why we need "special" submission rules for competitions.
