  1. I have a slightly different twist for the question. If running off-line/no connection and unable to get a "valid" in the SS but save the file and submit afterward could you post a link that shows a valid result. Would this still be acceptable? Many people can't/don't have internet connection when benching extreme.

  2. I like the idea of limiting challenger DIV to one. Pick and stay with it. Shouldn't keep you from submitting to others but only score points for one. Personally I'm busy enough doing one division and still find it hard to bench what I "want" when I need the time to bench for the current competition. With the TC, CC and Challenger that's year round benching for competitions already.

  3. WT fees was for live ticket + free LN2

Here it's "only" to join a contest.

I drove 1000km to join France WT and fly 20.000km to join TW WT and paid twice 100e . Should I pay again for online ticket Johan ?

Maybe it can be "free" for people who already paid WT ticket or not (I'm not talking for myself, I won't join it even if it's free, too busy, it's only to show you it's not that easy)

    Having some maths :

    Let say 20people with 50euros ticket = 1000euros

If it's a german (Dancop ? ) that win this ticket. then flights fee will be f*** low :D and accommodation will be easily cover right ?

In this case extra money will be refund ?

    For example 300e hotel + 100e flying ticket -> 1000 - 400e . will you refund 30euros to the 20 member ?

I know, it could be 2 people that join wild card and an asian guy that win with 1000e flying ticket :D

My feeling : it's a bad move to add fee to join an offline contest.

I think it really is that simple, I went to the WT in montreal last year and yes it cost me more than the 50euro entry fee that is charged for this on-line event. I'm not bitter about it though and am grateful for an opportunity to compete again this year since I was unable to attend the NA stop do to health reasons.

I can't tell if you think they should be charging more or not at all but either way 1000 euro wouldn't go far covering accommodation in Berlin of that I'm pretty certain.

It comes down to choices and opportunities. You chose to drive 1000km or fly 20,000km to attend and seems to me you're pretty lucky to have the money and time to do so but it was still your choice. Just as it is now your choice whether or not to pony up another 50euro for a third chance.

  4. Not to keep arguing and I know there were a few errors in the original e-mail that was sent out. When I set this up at OCF in the bench section to try and get things organized I copy and pasted the original e-mail.

    Hi Johan45

It’s that time of year again when overclocking teams on HWBOT start eyeing the the HWBOT Team Cup, the ultimate prize in team-oriented overlocking. It’s a contest that pits dozens of teams of overclockers against each other with a total of thirty stages that covers virtually every hardware category imaginable.

Running throughout the months of July, August, September, the HWBOT Team Cup is surely the truest test of competitive team overclocking, requiring the broadest possible array of skill sets with overlockers invited to bench on everything from the latest Skylake and Haswell E platforms to legacy Intel and AMD platforms including stages devoted to DDR2 and DDR tweaking as well as two newly devised ‘Dogpile’ stages that require you to make as many submission as possible on as many CPUs as possible.

This year’s contest involves five separate challenges or sub-competitions as we refer to them, each with an historical epoch in mind. Contest categories include Current Generation, Modern, Legacy, Vintage and Dogpile. Let’s look at the stages in more detail regarding specific hardware limitations and benchmarks.

    Sub-Competitions and Stages

    SC1: Current Gen (DDR4)

    Stage 1: SuperPI 1M - Skylake/Haswell (Average of 3 best CPUs)

    Stage 2: 3DMark11 Full Out - GeForce 600/700

Stage 3: HWBOT Prime - Mobile Haswell/Skylake (Average of 3 best CPUs)

    Stage 4: Geekbench3 Multi Core - Steamroller

Stage 5: 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme - Radeon HD 7000 + Rx2/3 rebrand (Average of 3 best GPUs)

    Stage 6: GPUPI for CPU 1B - Haswell E

    Stage 7: Memory Clock - DDR4

    Participate in SC1

From this there was no indication that only "some" HD7870s were allowed, tahiti OK, pitcairn bad. You would assume all HD7000 series were eligible.
