  1. Nice thread LOL :D

    Usually I keep calm during benching no matter how bad the sessions were, but I remember this one time i lose my cool and was REALLY mad at one mobo(don't ask which one :P) for killing my good chip.....

    So i literally THROW it from my 2nd floor office building :D :D :D (that said, the mobo was already dead before i threw it).

    Felt good when i did it, but regret it later knowing i could still change its mosfets and make it back alive again :P

    The Practical Stuff - Get Lost You Sandbagger!

    We all know how online competitions usually work, so for the MOA 2012 we will implement an elemination cut to force those annoying sandbaggers to play their cards a little earlier in the game. The elimination will take place after 75% of the competition (we'll provide exact date, time, timezone) and will only allow the 15 best overall ranked to continue submitting. If you don't make the top-15 cut, you will no longer be allowed to submit in the rest of the competition.

    Note that the scores of the eliminated participants are still valid for the competition. So, if someone only submits the highest SuperPI-32M score and gets eliminated, you'll still have to beat that score to get the 15 points.

    That's all for now, more info to follow.

    Niiiiice,

    Looking forward for that 'anti-sandbagger algorithm' to be implemented :D

  3. Instead of posting whether I was against or not against it, allow me to point out my concerns regarding this Virtu MvP :

    - A benchmark have certain sets of data/frame to be rendered. By my understanding, the benchmark can be considered valid if only those certain sets of data is not reduced in any way.

    * yes, I wasn't agree with disabling tesselation in 3DMark11 benchmark :P :p*

    I don't know how exactly this Virtu MvP was implemented, but if the algorithm somewhat 'reduced' the benchmark data/frame, then the result obtained using Virtu MvP can be considered invalid.

    But then again, if the increased frame-rate is caused by the IGP somehow 'helping' to render the frame, and the benchmark data was NOT reduced, I can agree with this.

    Just my 2 cents ;)
