Hmm. So is the max OC(frequency) score valid with disabled cores? There are few 8350 subs that have cores disabled.

8350 Will clock really high even with air cooling if cores are disabled.

And why is there someone with LN2 cooling :D:D Competition just got real.

E: And tell me how that is possible? :ohttp://hwbot.org/submission/2539925

Down coring isn't a thing in this competition? If we are going on a per-core basis for cinebench, and prime, why do I need all 8 enabled? I disabled 6 on my 8350 (to curb vdroop with my board) and run it scoring 1729 points per core. I submitted it here, but it didn't count it as a dually. Check my submission history for the screenshot

Truefakts- I'm fighting the Vdroop demon too. I think when I get home today I am going to try connecting my Aux power input that's meant to boost board power when running crossfire to see if I can stabilize it a bit more.

@ WAZA88 I had LLC set to full. Problem is ASRocks shoddy cooling on the VRMs. Undersized heatsink and ineffective thermal tape. Even with 2x 120mm fans and a high-pressure 80mm fan cooling it it can't sustain more than 1.44V under load for more than a few seconds. I'm picking up a better Gigabyte board this evening.

@Martin White New motherboard is being installed tonight, I just may catch back up to you!

Of course Waza, not only liquid nitrogen, even Moisey with "air miracles". The site accepts it for the comp??

There's no explicit ban for liquid nitrogen. Would you want to see it banned? I think it's pretty cool to see a rookie use LN2.

Our HWBOT engine does not support "down-coring". It can only support unlocking of cores. So a dual core unlocked to tri-core will be recognised as tri-core, but a quad-core "down-cored" to dual-core will still be consider a dual core. It's a technical thing.

So for your eight-core, the score you achieve will always be considered as run with eight cores.

So while the engine doesn't support it in tests you can disable cores to reach higher max oc with CPU-Z validation?

Ah man, I left home this morning and can't bench anymore. I guess my hail mary of running it as a dually won't work. Well...it was fun.

Note to self: $60 motherboards aren't great for competition overclocking
