Posted January 20, 20169 yr Hi, Does anyone know if there is some kind of limit at 170Mhz bclk setting? I have i5 6400 and Gigabyte z170-hd3p motherboard. I can't seem to get my computer to boot even one MHz over that. I'm sure my processor could do more as it will do 4590Mhz (at 170 bclk) at 1.25v.
January 20, 20169 yr no limits on the cpu, but the board may be limiting the cpu with it being low end.
January 22, 20169 yr If the board does not have an external clockgen, 170MHz is about the max you can get.
