[HowTo] SandyBridge CPU selection

Hi,

thought I'd post my findings with 5x 2600K here. First the CPUs:

The results of 5 CPUs (4C/8T):

1 bad CPU

47x100 ~without internal PLL voltage override

50x100 ~1.48V no boot with PLLv tweak

1 ok CPU

49x100 ~1.38V without internal PLL voltage override

3 good CPUs

50x100 ~1.38V without internal PLL voltage override

For finding good CPUs you need 50x100 with 1.4V or less booting then your chip has potential I would say. For all day find chips that run cool - I had differences of 5-10°C per Chip with same paste and cooler. But the cooler chips didn't ran that well :(

Batch of all 2600K I had: L040B165

regards

SoF
