rsnubje
Hey, I'm just wondering why Malwarebytes is blocking Coinhive on this forum. http://puu.sh/yYdQG/2cf2a74cc2.png I think if you are going to mine on user's systems, you should at least warn them about it. I would understand if it's another way to get some money instead of ads, but maybe there is more than meets the eye? Does someone care to explain this? Calathea
Some official answers from hwbot would be nice. I thought the coinhive malware was taken care of. edit: found answers here http://forum.hwbot.org/showpost.php?p=502601&postcount=36 solution is to use adblock as websmile suggests. Administrators websmile Posted January 10, 2018 Administrators Share Posted January 10, 2018 We are currently migrating to another software and a new forum, this vbulletin version is simply too old, it is not safe anymore and stuff like this exploit happen. We have limited ressources, so with rev7 coming as well it might take a couple of weeks to get all perfect, the migration of the content takes long time and we did not want to leave the knowledge accumulated here behind... nOFi
I had to block javascript from hwbot.org in order to stop the bitcoin mining.. Someone injected a script with "CryptonightWASMWrapper" and my CPU load was at 15-20% all the time. We are currently migrating to another software and a new forum, this vbulletin version is simply too old, it is not safe anymore and stuff like this exploit happen. vBulletin 3.8.4 is almost 9 years old!!! It's not hard to find multiple vulnerabilities for this version.. Please upgrade the forum ASAP. Thx Edited January 27, 2018 by nOFi
