ƒ0rteOC Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I'm thinking about getting a new GPU (HD 6530D isn't really cutting it), and I can't really decide what to get. I game at 1280x1024, but I might upgrade to a 1680x1050 monitor in the future. I was originally thinking of getting a Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X, but the GTX 650 Ti came out earlier this month and it seems pretty good for my needs. Should I get the Sapphire card or the 650 Ti (please specify a good model for overclocking) or a different card? Quote
K404 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I'd pick a 5850 or 5870 over the 7770. They use a bit more power, but perform better and will cost less (Ebay) The 650 spanks the 7770 and is probably overall in-between the 5850 and 5870, it costs *about* the same and uses less power.... GTX650 wins (I think) I hope others comment too Quote
Christian Ney Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Yeah you can find brand new GTX 650 Ti OCed with a silent cooler for around 125 €, go for it. Quote

Which model should I buy for the highest overclocks? I'm eyeing an ASUS model with a 1033MHz core clock, but its not available in the states. Quote
K404 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 There won't be much in it. If you're on air/water, you'll be limited by temps or the amount of voltage you're willing to pump in. I'd choose the one with the best warranty or bundle.... or the cheapest Quote
