Q56_Monster Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I need some clarification on when an orb link is required. The general rules say it is required for hall of fame (HOF) top 20. The specific 3dmark/vantage rules state it is needed for top 20. Is orb validation needed for each Top 20 hardware category, or just HOF entries? If just HOF, that doesn't seem right.... Can someone confirm? Quote
Q56_Monster Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 So only 20 possible orb links per benchmark? So prior generation cards will never need an orb link, huh? Quote
Thor941 Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 if you run now a 8800GT you won't need any ORB link for sure - as you won't need it as well for a GTX480 in 2 years Quote
K404 Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Is it needed for the top 20 of benchmarks that have leaderboards for # cores? E.G..... PCMark with 1 core CPUs? etc Quote
Q56_Monster Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 K, are you really #1 Uk female? Funny my 10 yo daughter just asked me if girls can OC too...I said sure, but they usually aren't as interested as guys. Thought your name was kenny? Where in the world did you get all that hardware lately? Quote
K404 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 *checks* I'm a guy. Massman changed my user title on here coz of a jokey convo on XS Ebay is my friend (and enemy) I usually submit scores in batches, its just the way I work. By the time I submit, some of them might be a month old Quote
Maxi Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Per hwbot rules you only need an ORB URL in the top 20 of each benchmark. But it's also not a bad idea to have one for every result, you can never go wrong with both a screen shot and ORB URL. Quote
