It's always been about doing the best with what you have. The warp9 team does that.

    This.

I know i have no voice here plus i lack the knowledge to help Frederick, but one thing i know: the way team points team rankings  will be in rev.8 more people will abandon this ship. Please take this words that i'm writing in consideration before moving to rev.8.

@richba5tard Frederick i can imagine how busy your life is, i have "only" two small kids here to spend time and money  + job + wife attention + second graduation + family, not easy i know, but even with all this i'm able to find some time to do my only hobby: overclock, from 386sx to z270, i love this, and i really want to keep doing it here with Hwbot.

  2. Well, as for me i'll keep doing overclock in any hardware i like, despite of it giving points or not.
I remember a discussion about changing the algorithm couple years ago and i gave my two cents about giving more points to 3D and organize more competitions based on 3D because it is a way to attract gamers attention to the overclock fun, AND of course companies like galax, asus, msi, evga, gigabyte etc... would be more interested too and give bot some money, this way Hwbot would have a cycle of overclocking and sponsorship (i also said that i knew this because i'm a senior analyst in sponsorship, work with it all day).
But my opinion at that time was mocked by a few...
That being said, i'm 100% against team points and team ranking changes proposals, mainly because the actual system is the best way to give a goal for those who love to overclock vintage hardware systems. Great overclockers from my team have made a phenomenal contribution to hwbot database and information, it's just not fair and for sure not the best way to change things

  3. @Strunkenbold Yes, they can be detected by software, but the information is restricted to "math coprocessor present/yes".

In resume, they can't work separately from main cpu, but once installed it can give more than 32x faster process abitity to calculate decimal numbers.

As a matter of fact, when you run superpi using a fpu processor it is this cpu himself that do all the calculation work, not the main cpu.

It works at the same frequency that main cpu works, no matter if they are sharing the same crystal oscillator or using it's own crystal, it will only work at same main cpu speed.

In my case, my team had 3 members and Im the only active one :D so I joined a team where I have the most friends that bench not because I thought they would win.

In the future why not allow a single user to sub more than one stage? Or maybe I just shouldn't have been allowed to participate because my old team was 3 guys?

I'm pretty sure this was not towards to you Allen, you're still a overclock.net member and a well known and respected overclocker ;)
