I think many stay in enthusiast because they don't have access to more cooling, not interested, etc. But some stay in because they enjoy being a big fish in small pond so to speak, some stay in enthusiast because they can rank high there but wouldn't be able to in other leagues. I'd like to see those people have a push to try extreme cooling. The people who are interested but are too scared of losing their top 10 league position
-
I think scoring would be more fair if we combined the cooling leagues, give people more incentive to go up to extreme. After all they already compete with extreme for pts just don't get to rank against them

Very nice! Are you on Discord at all? We have a server for organizing team USA

Tbh the only advantages that they use are for binning, etc. I don't see in house benchers using skus that don't exist (skylake 1,3,5 core etc) and I don't see them manipulating how the cpu handles code to make it run a specific bench better unless they release their tweaks so really not any more "unfair" than people getting free stuff imho.

Is win 10 allowed on all stages or just for modern Hardware?
I think normal win 10 rules apply, so Skylake and newer can run win 10, otherwise has to be benchmate, x265, or 3dmark/PCMark with valid link

Is Ryzen PRO allowed? My laptop happens to have a Ryzen PRO APU in it, I've already subbed it for the Sky Diver stage:
https://hwbot.org/submission/4593865
But would be good to know if this is considered workstation hardware. I'd think not but better to clear up the ambiguity early on as I'm sure I won't be the only one thinking of subbing Ryzen PRO.
Good question, my ebay purchases were just me assuming it'd be allowed, fuck trying to get the non pro version of 4000 series...

Reminder that basically all s771 boards use fbdimm which is not ddr2, so would need to be like socket F or something

Unigine Superposition verification - only for paid access ?
You need a key to get a validation link

Reminder that crosshair 8 dark hero launched after the comp, want to make sure nobody subs and has to rebench on different board. Posting here and on Discord to make sure everyone sees it, don't think it will be a problem but will suck if someone does a sick 3000 series sub on the new board for country cup and can't use it.

Why not create different tiers and make overclocking the comp, as an example there are those that only have a 570 and can't compete at all with a 2080ti or 3090 so then creating specific tiers like 570, 580 etc.
My 0.002
That's just normal hwbot, idk but having 500+ stages in country cup is a maybe not the best idea. There are however cheap stages so everyone can participate
-
I don't really care if they're allowed I don't think it will make an impact, but they probably shouldn't be allowed just the same cause people don't like quadros in most stages.
-
Also my 2c for quadros in pr is they shouldn't be allowed, but I did vote yes cause it'll be hilarious to see how pissed people are if it's allowed and someone posts monster score on one

Similar question, for superposition are workstation/server cards like Radeon pro duo allowed?

no problem paying.. not to be found...and no i dont believe chasing users is the way to go ?
All the people I know who have them bought them from scalpers or used the same bots the sclers use. It sucks but it's the only way rn

Also is downcore allowed to get core counts for ycruncher?

To achieve 7 cores in this stage it must be the only option...
So assuming this goes for the other subs too. Meaning you want to downcore *lake or zen 2 for optimal scores on all 4 subs

nope it can be done... someone tested it for me already ?
Is downcore allowed then? Or is it only unlock cores? Cause like no am3 cpu die has more than 6 cores...
-
It's available, you just have to be willing to pay for it or use your own bot.
-
It's still divided by stock core count
-
For pcmark 7 will lga 1151v1 and v2 count as one or two different socket?

That makes it just more interesting and stressfull, plus the average score counts. Also Instances = processor cores... dare to innovate ?
You can set the number of threads it uses, it'll be set to 1 thread and downcored. I'd rather we run normal pi so we can at least get pts for it. If you want a weird multi instance of pi then at least do system stability tester
-
Could we swap hyperpi for normal pi? Hyperpi runs n threads of superpi but isn't actually multithreaded as far as score is concerned, just runs more instances

Make sure to use latest 1.94 cpuz. A week ago validations with 1.92.2 were fine and since Saturday it requires newer cpuz version.
Ty, that's likely the problem with cpuz, still I suspect something is messed up with the os as the ycruncher submitter can't make a data file if a screenshot is taken or selected. Same file works on other os so perhaps Java is borked but reinstall of Java etc doesn't fix it
Is allowed to bench on VM
in Old HWBOT Rules (pre 2021)

Not sure if this has been asked before or not, but I think a lot of times when server hw is benched its in a vm on a server. Is it allowed to bench in a vm if windows is still used? Not sure how easy it would be to tell but I bet if you go through results on bigger server hw at least some of it is done on a vm
