The new system does not work everywhere. LESS THAN 125

    https://hwbot.org/benchmark/cpu_frequency/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_940&cores=1#start=0#interval=20

    https://hwbot.org/benchmark/cpu_frequency/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_937&cores=1#start=0#interval=20

    1 rank = 50 pts  -  last rank 200 = 25pts

    https://hwbot.org/benchmark/cpu_frequency/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_2128&cores=2#start=0#interval=20

We need a new recalculation for everything. These are just the first 3 out of 5 examples that come across.

    But

In general, the scheme does not work well with different groups of processors, not to mention Video cards.

    I will give some examples.

Q6600 It has a maximum increase from the nominal value of +120%. For him, the stop ranking on the 287 result is a +- logical thing. Ideally for beginners 350 rank

    https://hwbot.org/benchmark/cpu_frequency/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_919&cores=4#start=0#interval=20

But Phenom II 2x 555 It also has a maximum of 120% to the nominal value. Following his rating in favor of beginners, you can put a maximum of 200 ranks.

    https://hwbot.org/benchmark/cpu_frequency/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_2128&cores=2#start=0#interval=20

Celeron 430  It has a maximum increase from the nominal value of +180%. It is logical for him to stop the rank at 140 for beginners.

    https://hwbot.org/benchmark/cpu_frequency/rankings?hardwareTypeId=processor_1414&cores=1#start=0#interval=20

I do not know if you will understand me, a simple tip, I am not a coder. You need to consult with the coder whether the following scheme is possible.

    1. You need to break all the hardware into 6 categories, depending on the maximum acceleration from the rated frequency. (I think there will be some to help who can share sockets among themselves and view each of their own.)

    2. For each group of this iron. Make your own calculation scheme. All points in it will also be predefined (like your new one) But it should be rubber not by the number of results 287, but by % of the maximum acceleration.

    3. Put the maximum % for each category with a margin, so as not to recalculate it every time, increase it only in case of global changes.

    4. Make a category 7, throw everything new and unknown into it. And as you study, transfer it to the category that is more suitable.

It may be complicated and incomprehensible, but it will solve the issue once and for all.

How about, and here me out on this cause it might sound crazy. But how about we make pts be based on your ranking vs other people, and use a fixed points curve? Sounds pretty crazy so idk if the community will like it

  2. For anyone wondering details, plan is to start comp Feb 15th and run until end of March. Cpu limit will be 5005 mhz with no other restrictions on cpu, tests will be 3dm01, 3dm03, and 3dm vantage gpu score. We will allow all variants of GT218 core so to my knowledge the allowed cards and cores in DB would be as follows:

    geforce 210 ddr2, 64 bit, gt218
    geforce 210 ddr3 64 bit ddr3
    8400 gs ddr3 gt218
    geforce 310
    NVS 300
    quadro fx 380 LP

    Cores allowed: GT218  GT218'  GT218 GL

Let me know if there's any thoughts etc

maybe we see people push the other benches harder then for the extra reward

I swear every time there is revision I got dropped from first place :D yay +300 in the lead to -50 in 2nd

are we really going to keep 1x 2x 3x 4x 01 and 03 XD its kind of becoming a meme of itself at this point.

3rd place in 3d = 1st place in 2d....there is what like 20x the competition in 2d vs 4 guys that bench current 3d since they get sampled cards? why is the value added to the less competitive areas?

People complained that there were too many cpu pts and not enough gpu points. Of course maybe those complaining have cards lol. At least 3/4 way shouldn't be expensive if the market ever fixes itself

  4. Based on discussion and my own opinion I'm planning cheapaz 2022 around the Gt218 core (Gt 210 and several other cards) so benches will be legacy, gonna shoot for 3x stages with some reasonable cpu limitations tbd.

GT210 would be pretty cool, I guess would just have to clear about what version(s) are allowed, DDR2 vs. DDR3, 32bit vs. 64bit, GT216 vs. GT218.

I think we would do as previous where we just specify a core, so say any gt218 and if people find a card with that core, even gt 405, that somehow has some super awesome memory bus they can use that. I think it won't be too hard to find the optimal memory config cards whatever that ends up being. And all gt218 is the same core config so no issues there. I'll give it a day or so then put up a poll for benches and for card. I think the two contenders are gt218 core (gt 210) and oland core. Benches will be legacy, especially if we go with tesla arch

I have a REALLY Stupid question ? I can run Heaven 1.0.3 (HWBot Wrapper) in DX-11 MODE with a Geforce 9800 GX2. There is no submissions for this Card in our data base BUT according to NVIDIA, this GPU is capable of doing DX-11.

** The GeForce 9800 GX2 was a high-end graphics card by NVIDIA, launched on March 18th, 2008. Built on the 65 nm process, and based on the G92 graphics processor, in its G92-450-A2 variant, the card supports DirectX 11.1. Even though it supports DirectX 11, the feature level is only 10_0, which can be problematic with many DirectX 11 & DirectX 12 titles.

This would also apply to ANY and ALL CARDS From the Geforce 8xxx series (based on the G80 core) through to the GTX-295 (GT200 core).

I wish to get the okay here first before I submit a score and then be flag..

I'm getting -- Time Out Errors -- at HWBot.org so I can't check the Geforce 8800 or 9800 series cards to see if there are submissions to them.

    Thanks

    MaddMutt

If it can run the bench with the settings used in the wrapper then it's fine

Quadro x700, x800 and x000 Series of cards. That or GeForce 8000/9000 series. Glad to see talk of a lower end GPU competition!

Idk about a comp specifically for quadros but could probably allow quadros with same core as whatever the main card is. For 8000/9000 definitely want the lower models from those or else people just pull out their 8800gt with mods already done etc

  8. Since there was some interest in discord may as well see what people want to run. Previous comps have been Gt 710, Gt 1030, cedar core, HD 5770, and athlon 3000g. So what hardware would we like to see if there's a competition this year? Some that I can think of Caicos core, oland core, rx550, 8400gs, gts 240, Gt 430, Gt 630
