  1. Nice Nacho.. don't kill the CPU... go to 01, 03, 05, AM3 before... also UH is great
  2. After we killed and resurrected a GTX Titan last week, we had the opportunity to exchange to a brand new a little better. The previous Titan, which gave us excellent results, was able to reach only 1175/1710 MHz (GPU / RAM) on your original stock aircooling, and this new, reached about 1211/1736 MHz (GPU / RAM), which gives us a greater hope for better scores. Once the videocard arrived, we began immediately to work in that, and study the strategy to be used for mods. There were many hours of work and lots of issues. Due to welding the videocard being inclined position, often fall drops by welding, hard to be removed, also, we had problems with broken capacitors, signal loss and tiredness for being for hours and hours working on something new. Since we decided put the zoombie inclined to allow to fit another videocard, to work this way was much difficult and greater risk. For this reason, we decided to protect the card with liquid tape, and its the reason we called "Black Edition" (because remnants of solder and wires soldered, cause a high risk of short circuiting whn drop in the card). The result could not have been more rewarding for us. With only a few hours and a few liters of liquid nitrogen, we got 2 world records (Unigine Heaven and 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme). I would credit 50% to my teammate and my close friends schenckel bros. We hardmoded, prepared, insulated, worried, insulated, benched and celabrated together, and therefore he deserves to be with me in this hour of happiness. Also wanted to thank Corsair for believing in my work and Zotac to gave me this gift. Zotac believed in me to do my best, and sure, don't mind I zombiefied the card. Best wishes from Brazil.
  3. Thanks for share and to your help to extreme overclockers community. Attempt that the mods is really dangerous... because PWM is too weak. Then... for each one that will allow this mods... I strongly recommend you don't go for high voltages. I believe we will see lots of great results after this. Best wishes.
  4. Thanks all friends... But would like to share that: Me and Schenckel Bros worked about 10 hours or more working together. We also modding, soldering, killed PWM, zoombified, benching and celebrate together. We were really tired out... so, was good we shared and worked together to minimize the fatigue... We killed the card after 1st hardmod about 1:00 AM.... and went immediatly to zoombiefied the card... when we were just tired... So... would like to give 50% of the credit in all to my brother, Schenckel... that's a really close friends and often be part of overclocking sessions at home. Just FYI.... Schenckel Bros = Cleiton Schenckel and Jacson Schenckel... In name of us, I would like to give you thanks for all friendly words. @all Working hard to do the best overclocking... is the passion and way that we follow... Top guys like Shamino, TiN, Vince, Andre (and MANY others), that we've follow, to overclocking community, is the main inspiration for us)

  6. Hi, friends of KPC. The reason we are doind this thread is to tell you about our "Titan's" experience, and also to alert the extreme overclockers to take care with the fragile Titan's PWM. First of all, we tested the videocard in the air, and we were not happy to know the card coud not surpass 1175 Mhz / 1700 Mhz. The videocard is a gift from Zotac Miami (very thanks to Zotac)... and since the videocard cost is about USD 2000 (or more) in Brazil, we noticed will be impossible to play SLI... and sure... 3 or 4 way. Regardless all.... we decided to try to get the max of the card. Phase 1 - Hardmodding We did try the hardmodding (VGPU, VRAM and VPLL... also OCP and Thermal Shutdown)... I often liked to make a control panel, to have easier acess to the trimpot and also measure points. Looks like a functional and nice hardmod... Bad surprise After we run 1345 Mhz... and get more than 18K on 3Dmark11, we (me and Schenckel) decided to put a lit bit more voltage... since we were under LN2... So... suddenly, after 10 minutes benching and only about 10 seconds after start 3DMark11... videocard was death. We measure the resistence and noticed the card was shorted. OMG... to lose a VERY EXPENSIVE videocard in only a few minutes, was really a bad thing... but after to test the components, we could know that only one phase was death. Still had a hope Later that nigh in Brazil..... I see in the morning in Taiwan, ... TiN gave us a great help, and informed PWRGD point to cut... so, we could enable the Zoombie. We started to hardmod again the card about 1:00 AM... and finally finished and tested the card about 6:00 AM... really tired out... After to test and check it was working... its time to sleep 3 or 4 hours to finally try the Titan. That's the result: http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/9659/img2883hdtv1080.jpg And that's the scores we got We know nothing compares with a magic hardmods done by TiN and Shammy... but we were happy that we made. Unfortunately, LN2 is too expensive and we could not afford lots of LN2... This is all we got with about 35 Lits... Titan is a ferocious consumer of nitrogen... but bring us a lot of fun... Best wishes from Brazil
  7. Videocard pictures... http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.446415155433759.1073741828.290467317695211&type=1
  8. No Michal. Is working. Unfortunately is not a great card.... only reached 1175 Mhz in the air... and I noticed that some cards can go to 1250 ... But even this way... is the only card I have and need to try the best. I hope the card can surprise me, and get high scores.. . Only the phases was death.... crap PWM... we (me and schenckel bros, worked full night to revive the card. Thanks to Tin, to inform cut point to work the Zoombie.... so the card can work
  9. @phil - put the VGA over the pot, for support..... were just putting eraser (insulation).
  10. VGA survive... We zoombinized the card and still working... Really crap PWM... the card death instantly at 1.46V... Let´s try again ... thanks friends
  11. Thanks Andre. I feel happy to see limit if the insane cards. To me, this kind of job is my reason to be here.
  12. The proposal to have gaming benchmarks... I believe is really good. And will update how it works here. Next days we will have an overclocking event, together gaming community, and will do a presentation of gaming benchmarks... lets cross our fingers to have good public. But it don't mean we can not keep the benchs.
  13. Hardware points not valid to Pro League. To Pro league... only the highest level hardware will earn points... Even the eras will change,... GTX 480... after GTX 580... after HD7970.... and now... Titan era
  14. No... its different. In Pro League before... even with 1 or maybe 2 videocards and a good CPU... you can compete and make a very good job. And many many more important... YOU CAN CHOOSE what you want to bench... with the hardware that was your choice.
  15. Please don't give distrorcion in my words to fit in your point of view. I said ONLY THE INVOLVED have the feeling to had all their effort removed. If I will talk by myself (and I know there are many more overlclockers in the same situation)... I worked hard to climb and be well ranked... with m own resources... and I got... So... one day... I opened HWBot page and I was no more there... Then now, I was forced to join Pro Cup to be not in a "LIMBO LEAGUE". I have 2 options. 1st- Do not join and go to the LIMBO 2nd- Join... and have no chances to do a good job and help my team members. why??? Because I will no have chance to compete against 4 Titans... no chance to compete Cinebench... no chance to AMD (and I don't know to spend my resources that was limited to buy a "Lano")... I think HWBOT said they discuss before to decide... but I can not believe they can be discussed and find this stages. Worst... I think my team members will have same hardware than me... and we only can compete in a single card and spi. There are lots of things I believe is wrong... Now... don't talking about me,... What emotion... if we know that EVERY competition, people keep the best scores to last moments. Will be the Sandybag era... We will no more see great scores.... until the last moments (hwbot though about it?). 3 months waiting.... so... suddenly the scores will be posted. I just told... AT LEAST... since we were forced to join to be not in a LIMBO... to make the rules where more overclockers can participate with more chances....even more fair. How many Pro Overclockers can have 4 Titans... and also... don't forget is good if is a binned Titans and Epower or canibalized full power videocards. Basic... Since not all overclockers there are in Pro Cup have full sponsorship... Limit to 1 videocard Limit to 1 CPU Ah... and please... don't forget... we will miss lots of Vantage's, 3DMark06's and 3DXXXX scores that is not in Pro Cup. So... I will be there... but because I was forced and no because I agreed.
  16. Indeed, as in any sport, one will have to follow your way. No one becomes to black belt, if was not white belt before. Nobody becomes F1 pilot if you have not raced kart. But both the white belt , and for the kart pilot, the inspirations are reaching the highest you can. When I was a white belt, my inspiration was someday to become a black belt in martial art I practiced. When I started to overclock, my inspiration was to see the crazy works from people like Shamino. If a member comes here as legitim newcomer overclocker, which initially says not interested in the highest level, pro league and so on, for me (please, is just my opinion), it does not match the profile of the most overclocker that will bring growth to the community. Even the overclockers that belong to enthusiast, shoud be better and understand the goal of the different overclocking levels, and try to climb and be better, regardless the category (Pro, XOC or enthusiast). Of course.... each one have their own choice... the most never will touch LN2 and so on... but it not mean that the extreme level is less important (IMHO) @ Hwbot think about it: Since looks for don't have any way to change... think about it: Nobody (almost) will have no 4 binned Titans... Nobody (almost) will have no servers to Cinebench... Nobody (almost) will have no binned AMD to memory Clock... I believe that my members team are in same situation... and maybe 90% of the overclockers will have no chance (because blablablabla....differente level of sponsorship and blablabla) So... At least if the rules are made for many... limited to 1 videocard and 1 CPU... only usual benchmarks... usual CPU ... etc..
  17. Hey man! What about are you discuss here? Since you have no the feeling of the main involved overclockers..., Don't you think you're talking about something that you are not feeling? Please man... take your time... take beer and popcorn and don't get into subjects that you are not part. Tks
  18. I am not worried Michal. Msi just sent me e-mail...I sent all infos and its all right.
  19. Request powered by Hipro5. Tks friend... there were missing your very important point of view before. Nice to see you here.
  20. Don't want to spent my time.. since your opinion is that. You are free to keep your point of view... so please... don't try to put your lines in my way of view. Main, you are not involved and nothing will change to you... so... I do not know why you want to argue with me and impose your opinion Further I believe I just expanded my horizons... enough ... to disagree and keep my point of view that I believe is correct and followed by the most of the guys of the Pro league and real overclockers here. Tks
