  1. Pretty good read :D

Made this boring day less boring somehow.

Still, there are some very lucky people out there, while having every single thing one could ask for, they're stupid enough to not realize it and show their worst part everyday in many ways.

  2. Or maybe I'm just foolishly reckless :P

One of the E.S. ( the 6.4G SuperPi 1M chip ) scaled all the way to 1.98V ( probably because it sucked balls, others would do 7GHz Pi 4M with that voltage :P ).

Can't wait to test my retails, gotta get some reviews and articles out prior to that though :(:)

  3. All these sound like a firmware corruption issue ( either main BIOS or ME ).

Never had any issues on the Gene-Z and the Gene, neither on the UD3H ( as far as these issues are concerned ).

Perhaps it is somehow triggered by running 1c1t ?

That's the only thing I haven't done in any of my SB & IB sessions.

Insulation-wise I vaseline the baby excessively and thoroughly, never had any moisture/condensation or any water drops at all on any part of the motherboard.

Speaking of 1c1t, I remember having the multiplier locked to 39x ( or was it 36x ) with Clarkdale and both on Gigabyte & eVGA P55 mobos. ( didn't try raising the CPU Multi in windows, or maybe I did and it wouldn't change, can't recall for sure ).

  4. Each card boosts to a different max clock.

It depends on your luck ( core quality, conditions, temp, utilization, settings used, etc etc ).

Have PrecisionX or Afterburner show the GPU Power %, GPU Clock, GPU Utilization in game at a 500ms refresh rate.

That'll show you how it behaves.

If it hits 1306MHz even for a few seconds on its own without you changing any overclock settings, chances are you've got a 1400+ card there.

  5. PC Mark05 has become the most tweakable ( and probably annoying ) benchmark since last year :P

If you want to make the perfect run there are so many variables to take care of, and enough luck to get the best subtests scores at their max value at the very same time, have fun with that :P

  6. Oh.

So it's okay to buy 30k worth of 3770K chips and then get a credit note of 29.7k and pay €300 for the best one?

//edit: not trying to be an ass here; just pointing out your rule has a 'paperwork'-loophole.

That's not ok as well, but is there such a place where you can do that ?

  7. join my club :P

you back in the US of A Bill ?

Nope, getting some stuff ready before I move to a new place in the sunny & always summery Florida in July.

So, I bin 20 the first time, then 20 the second time, then 20 the next time. That's okay?

Perhaps you didn't get what I said.

Re-read the post... or just read this one.

I was referring to the number of overclockers out there who have a connection with a shop or distributor who allows them to try out several chips before finally purchasing the best one.

Not how many chips you test.
