The official MSI Precision Master OC contest thread.
Spyboy48 replied to buildzoid's topic in HWBOT Competitions
3dmk Firestrike marks of 15431 is a world record to achieved on a single GPU for 290/x on LN2. You will be in the Top 20 ranking to achieved 15431 with 780Ti. I think the score is beyond most of us to think even about it for single GPu. ...You need to CF or Sli. -

same here, unable to submit...same error message. Tried yesterday and today. -
Maybe save the Titan or 780 for the final at Msi expense. Semi-final used the same GPu as class B...to even the cost outlay! Participation will be fairer to ALL. Thanks for your attention

The Gigabyte Z87/Haswell Overclocking(OC) Guide
Spyboy48 replied to sin0822's topic in Haswell (Z87/Z97) OC
Thanks Sin0822 for the very useful guide, needed that I got 2x 4770K retail batch 307B, one at 1.25Vcore and 1.18Vcore at 4.5GHz which is just a decent chip. Thru your experienced with your team, which bios versions is better in both CPU and memory OC? Thanks! -
Thank you MSi! Thank you Hwbot too! congrats to ALL lucky draw prizes as well!

Testing MSI Big Bang XPower II
Spyboy48 replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge-E / Ivy Bridge (X79) OC
Putting Msi Xpower II to an xtreme pace and xtreme LN2 cooling. Is a breeze to Overclock this monster board, by using the Overclocking Interface, "Control center". Only the 1st time required you to reboot once you tick the multiplier and save the setting. The rest is on the "fly" at the window, so easy, keep pouring Ln2 and my CPu "CB" was at -60degrees. So I maintained around -52-55degrees as I continously tick and save the settings until I reached 5.5Ghz where my processor stuck, at 1.58Vcores...hit a wall Xtreme LN2 cooling on a kingpinCooling apparatus MSI have solved the CPU ratio issues (cold boot bug + x12 multiplier issue) that hit the X79 platform. -

2133Mhz at cold start, always corrupted...and moreover need higher Vdimm 1.725V to run Quad at 9-11-10-30-214-1T....so not pretty to run daily. -

@Coldest Thanks for sharing your experience I read it from here though, it stated 31x. Sorry if I have caused a misunderstanding. It set my mind at 31x....keke! You're right accordingly to the stage1. Just sharing, but not disputing your score or standing. I am in no position to do that, and you did great and your experience greatly shown thru here. Using 31x, booting it up may not be the same as 34x. It will caused it to go back to back-up bios after a crashed from OS. Need to shut down, and start again. I am not sure using your settings at 34x, will give a smooth bclk boot-up. Tested on another motherboard, using Z68 V pro, I can reboot to higher higher bclk with no issues, increment by 0.2 or 0.3 at a time. (with no 31x restriction). It was easily done until i hit the wall, but not on 31x with UD7. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1998876 With Ud7, once got a successful boot-up from 106, after few tries, i used ET. Is very difficult to reboot from 107 or higher, need plenty of luck, sometimes it boot after many many tries (with 31x). Even profile settings that I have saved(107 to 108), also will not let me boot-up.

here in Singapore no celeron G540...have to ask a friend to get for me on his way back from Taiwan....just did my submission, though not a good chip on water, try SS and it only get so high on Blck...Anw, just support and do whatever I can...and also for the Lucky draw I am looking into...wish me luck Cheers!!! to All too for the Lucky draw!!! -
We need to set at bios 31x to qualified for the compy regulation to enable fair play. Not easy to do high block on UD7, only after numerous rebooting, it gets to OS, at times it boot to back up bios and need to shutdown. Lowering down Bclk to 106 it helps a bit, and pull using ET. Anw, saw one entry by 'Coldest' on stage one having 34x. An overlook mistake but nice high Blck.

a good run! I didn't have the time to tweak the timing further. I was at 5m 55.770s and just pull one Bclock and it hit 5m 55.109...the next pull crashed. And after getting a good run and that it...and was busy too, looking at other stages too. Lowest mem clock set me 3 nights until 5am to figure out...hehe.
