Great result! With this yours cascade? Compressors, refrigerants, power etc?
yes, with mine cascade i made it last year , is an dual stage rotary cascade , 19k btu first stage /R507 , second stage 17k btu /R1150

comparasion need to be with same cpu , because if i look at each screen cpu score is almost same , no big difference , the gain is on GPU score witch i think it have to do with pci express lane from cpu itself ...so need to be tested with 6700k!

Thanks Crusty now work on Apex too , on both XP x86 / x64.
-
same issue here with Z270 Apex on both XP x86 and x64
"3dmark2001 se was not able to detect 128 mb of memory" press OK then stukt at loading game test!
tryed to select affinity to first core , run it in XP mode , max mem , even overwritten ddraw.dll with other from windows>system32 (for x64 SysWOW64 aswell) but no positive results , also tryed different vga amd/ati/nvidia ...with different drivers ..no result!
tryed with other ISO same issue!...but using same windows on my Z170 Hero ...it works!

Ok So I have 3202 now and I can flash when I get home. My question is, will this help with my problem?
I am trying to overclock my 7700k on my VIII maximus hero and even though the multiplier is set to 49 on all cores my CPU will still only hit 4400mhz, and occasionally 4500mhz for a brief amount of time. So basically I can't overclock at this point
Current BIOS is 3101
AI overclock tuner set to manual
CPU core ratio set to sync all cores
core ration limit set to 49
IA AC and DC load lines set to 0.01
CPU core/cache voltage set to manual 1.30v (I tried adaptive but that doesn't work at all)
With these settings running stress tests Prime95 (26.6), aida 64, or realbench the CPU will be 4400mhz max. Why is it not overclocking?
have you hint F10 before bios exit? AVX frecq set in bios?
update to last official bios and try again
for multi fix in windows : control panel>Power option> hight performance

Exactly same procedure only different driver

Tryed some Asmedia drivers and found one that work on Z270 Apex , but will install only the red usb , you need to switch keyboard and mouse on PS2 ports.
copy the usbd.sys missing file to system32/drivers like in this thread saw allready then install "ASMedia_xHCI_Host_Controller_Driver_v1.16.38.1" Datei von filehorst.de laden
will ask you to show the way manually to "asmthub3.sys" ( extract arhive >drivers>ia64(for 64bit os) /i386(for 32bit os)>asmthub3.sys )
i instaled that port on both 32 and 64 bit xp
-
also his cpu was not running 6 ghz , because cpu score say that is at ~5300 -5400 max !
-
in bios is enabled by default " Asmedia Back USB 3.1 Controller"
prehaps need other driver version!
-
on the Asus website apex specifications tab say:
Intel® Z270 Chipset :
8 x USB 3.0 port(s)
Intel® Z270 Chipset : *3
6 x USB 2.0 port(s)
ASMedia® USB 3.1 controller :
2 x USB 3.1 port(s) (2 at back panel, , Type-A + Type-C)
-
i try to install usb ports on Apex board , copy the missing file usbd.sys to system32/drivers and after that install asmedia usb host controller driver ...but got the warning message " The Asmedia USB Host Controller was not found "

it´s work also for Z270 aswell?

I know Patrick personaly , he is engineer in refrigeration and YES he is one of the best phase builder .
Up for a great unit rebuild by Patrick!

Tried jre9 update 113 and 118. Is about lucky run. Cpu max out in this bench was 6400mhz using my cascade but score worse than this

you can see my submision with 7700k for mb info , i dont see from you any heavy load bench , have you tried cinebench or wPrime? ,xtu? it seams you cant reach 6 ghz on your cascade! without delidd you will degraded that chip at hight voltages!
-
we have same cpu batch , but on my cascade cpu did 6400 mhz slighty 3D and 6200 cinebench ...

tray 7350k / not delidedd /air cooling
L647G , vid 1.12 on apex!
5ghz R15 / 1.225 real DMM llvc5
XTU 5200 / 1.35V
nachtfalke`s XTU score: 951 marks with a Core i3 7350K
now i bench it on my cascade cooling and XTU at 6100 really easy / no slow mode used!

yes , you need to pull up PSI pin of the controller to enable all phases and in most cases also gddr pwm!
-
Hero rocks! nice run
-
Hero board is not what we need. Cpu and Cache OC is good ,but mem OC disaster...got Code 55/49 all time. No 1t possible here...need upgrade before ln2 on this chip.

slighty 3D prehaps, that mean 2k1 , 2k3 , 2k5 and aqua ...for sure not vantage or 2k6 , 3dm2011 ...depens alot of cooling, they are very hot cpu ..at 1.65 is disaster ...because they use 2x layer of TIM , DELTA T is huge!,also how your cascade can hold his internal load temps( not evap load that you see on thermometer - between that and internal temps you calculated your DELTA) , mine for 3D already tryed and stable at 6450mhz .. you need to give a try and you will know for sure what chip/cooling can do!
-
hwb prime is not an good reference to see potetial of your cooling , try an cinebench R11.5 or R15 , i use anyway wrong JRE here ,so my chip are fully stable this bench at 6300 same volts on my cascade unit! 6 ghz easy cache ! , yes delided.. that was only an pretest before LN2 .
Kaby IHS
in Extreme overclocking

test yesterday intel stock IHS vs this copper IHS ...for me both perform near the same, using custom watercooling, ofcourse difference can be using extreme condition , in theory this copper HS should perform better because his top surface are 20% larger than stock intel , so using an LN2 pot with big base surface heat transfer should be improve!
using those HS , intel glue need to be removed and use as spacer(0.15mm) adhesive sheet! i use that glued directly to HS bottom side!
