Good one! What was FSB limit on air?
about 498FSB on air, 1.5V Vtt still failed to 500+
-
Very nice one! Why did you use P5Q-Premium?
All my P35 mobo dead, and not good at X38/X48, so I found a crap P5Q-P to use
-
Crazy CPU, 520FSB on ambient is just insane
Agree with Sam, wish I had your luck, of the last 40 I bought best was 470 on air.......
In 2007, Mr.Sang's E2140 can do 525FSB on air
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?165719
I still have three E2140 (M0) can do 480~490FSB on ambient, and L2 stepping really sucks...
-
I wish I had your luck. I tested more chips from select batches (agree that particular batch doesn't matter but the range DOES) and am nowhere near 580.
I believe you will get your golden E2140 someday, for you have batches database, not like me, just by chance...

wytiwx, how much this one need to get into os on 5g?
This chip is not Air-King, about 1.36V@5GHz get into OS according my memory. You can see http://hwbot.org/submission/2277245 for air test of this chip.

Very very good, but attempt for my score )))
You can defeat me easily, my chip has tried its best
-
So you are limited by the FSB Wall of the CPU ??
I guess so, just like many E2140/E2160 and E5200 stop at 300~400 FSB, and different CM 925 do different Max FSB on my mobo

1.55V Vcore idle

I'm Just thinking: Who win between a Celeron 925 and Xeon L3014 at the same Frequency ??
Seems that Celeron is better.
A lot of mod here... more than my rig. I haven't performed vmem mod.
I think the limit is still the Chipset.. or not ?
I see 1.550 Volt Voltage, what is this? the CPU voltage ?
In fact I did Socket BSEL mod too, FSB 800 to 1066.
Vccp mod is the key to get high FSB, Vcca mod and Vmem mod seems not so helpful, my Samsung Memory don't like high Voltage.
FSB limited more probably by CPU, I think. I have other CM 925, one can do FSB 383MHz Max on air and 405Mhz by LN2; one only do 336MHz on air. This nice chip can do FSB 392 Max on air

Crazy stuff comes again . Many mods for this points: VID mod, Vcore mod, Vccp(also Vnb) mod, Vmem mod, Mem spd mod, Vcca(Vpll) mod. Used CPU pot, NB pot, and Mem pot. Still FSB limited, higher than previous though. Another stuff in this: http://hwbot.org/submission/2511974, you may like it

Just like what I said, L3014 is deadly killer . Hard to find this chip in China, need more crazy work on CM 900/925 ~~
-
DELL Latitude D630 is PM965 too, can boot at FSB 1066 by mobo PLL pinmod. You also can see this page:
For Mobile Celeron 900 (925) chip, firstly can do Socket BSEL pinmod by copper wire, that is a safe way.
If it not worked, then have to do mobo PLL pinmod, a harder and more dangerous way.
Meantime watch your Memory clock, may lead to crash if too high.
-
To Mat_Agnesi:
You can try FSB 800 to 1066 BSEL pinmod, if it worked, may help to get 315MHz+
-
Chipset limited I think, 3:4 ratio is MCH 200 strap, top trap for PM965, you need a PM45 mobo, by which you can get 266 strap and so higher Freq.
-
I have to say X5698 is a horrible chip
-
Just wait until someone gets a Xeon L3014
L3014 will be a deadly killer for this bench, I have to work harder now
-
Guys, don't do this to me! After reading the title at first I thought someone somehow overclocked an old Celeron CPU from 900 to 4.000 MHz. I almost suffered a heart attack, lol.
But it's a nice job with this setup anyway!
Sorry man, my mistake
have corrected

Interesting mod for a cpu s771 Ivan
This's wytiwx (Wei), not my friend Ivan

keep puuuuuuuuuushing it

If you cann't buy this adapter on ebay, welcome to china internet market---taobao
-
good wei keep pushing
This i3 540 not a good chip under LN2, CB -133C
-
CPU or mobo FSB limited, or can get higher

Strange... My P4 631 can work with P5E3 Prem X48, Asus Commando P965, Asus P5K P35 and Formula X48. Try other bios/clean pin side of processor using alcohol/if you have done any vid mods, remove it. I can't say anything more
I tried many times, with no mod, but still failed to boot this P4 641 on ASUS X48/X38... but my any other P4 641 worked fine. I really have no idea what the hell with this Malay P4 641...

How selected chip?
1. Batch number is just for reference only, not all thing. I have posted all the batch number for my Celeron D submissions
2. Generally speaking, D0 stepping will be better.
3. Ambient temperature about 25 C, use U120E cooler, a good Celeron D can post at least 4.60GHz @ 1.25V on air, get into WinXP at 5.0GHz @ 1.40V on air. If you look for golden chip, add more 200MHz on previous Freq requirements.
Besides, a good mobo is necessary. CPU power supply, BIOS Vcore top limit, all important. ASUS X48 recommended.

This E2140 is strong, and wierd as well. If, if, if it crashed during 2d bench, then system power off, it won't work againt, even 500X8 still power off, no matter what I want to do. Then I have to stop, remove pot, wait tomorrow...
I don't know what I could blame, CPU? Mobo? Temperature?
The most important thing is, I am a disappointing benchmarker, hahaha
