I think its worth doing a quick test of these benchmarks to ensure that they arent cpu bound in anyway (do a test at 4g and 5g, should be obvious) BEFORE starting this competition.

Good point, I'll do a test on the 3DMarks over the next couple of days with different CPU and GPU speeds etc and post the graphs for others to see :)

did a quick test on my kit at 2.1V, they keep on scaling, 6-6-5 at 976 is doable at that.

Might manage 6-6-5 at 986 (it did manage half a run before I got too greedy and went to 1000, but it doesn't scale anymore with voltage from here (sticks might be getting too hot too, though I have plenty of airflow right now)

Next steps are  -optimising subtimings (still using the same as at 1107) -trying if it goes any further at 6-7-5/6-7-6/6-6-6

I probably wouldn't advise running hypers at that kinda voltage for too long, it's not going to do the longevity of them any good.

ah never mind:  No ASRock board limitation

You're on the right track I think. Maybe we limit the competition to biostar boards only?

jab383's third statement brings up a question GB 3&4 both will give timer issue warning and no score if software was used to increase CPU freq. Have had this happen on Bclk & FSB setups (W7), is there an explanation?

Apply the same fix as GPU-PI with the timer.

  5. Newer members not understand the difference between a legit and an illegal cheat is as much of a fault on those experienced members for not making this clear before hand as it is on the new guys throwing the accusations.

My advice for future threads would be to lead with a question instead of accusations if you wish to have dialogue on the issue. Otherwise you're just insulting members who have been here for some time.

  6. Well we at least need some sort of clean up on the results already on the system if we are to eventually give the benchmark points again. So making it a seperate benchmark at least is the easiest and cleanest way of doing it imho.

  7. Can I suggest we reopen the upload page for HWBot prime as a seperate v 1.0+ benchmark and have it as a finite beta period. After which time all results are removed the database. This would allow for people to run the benchmark and for us to upload results to better find bugs and abnormalities. Also being clear up front that all results from the beta period will be cleared means we won't have any potentially bugged runs in the database after such time is over and people can't complain when the results are removed.

    Just my 2c anyway
