Hi all I wasn't lucky with Abit for sA benchmarking - they never survived more than a few days (had several ones, ones I remember were fully modded from moose83 and stock one from Ananerbe). I also had no luck with Epox boards. Many other boards either don't have mounting holes near socket or miss good/custom bioses. The board that was almost flawless for me is Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe - it has a bunch of modded bioses (thanks Scotty!) and I never had bios corruption issues with it. But it has a major flaw that is killing this board for most of the benchers - no 12V cpu power connector, so it uses 5V rail for cpu vrm. I was using external vrm to avoid this problem …

Quick explanations for anyone that would like to attempt the mod. Keywords : Strix B550i B550-I voltmod vmod vdimm ram memory voltage The memory pwm controller is located on the top right of the board and is a TPS543B20 (datasheet attached) tps543b20.pdf The pin we are looking for is Pin #1 (RSP), its stock resistance to GND should be around 3kΩ. You need to solder a variable resistor between this pin and GND. This resistor nearby is connected to Pin #1 and that's where I soldered my wire. From this to GND through a potentiometer, pretty simple (I used 100kΩ that's all I had). I'd recommend adding a switch in line with it to easily disable the mod but didn't do it mysel…

Please be aware that removing OCP on this board can be dangerous as the VRM isn't really that amazing and has a few major design issues. Removing part PR61 shown on boardview (ILIMIFS Resistor) will remove the OCP entirely, I would recommend replacing with a higher value resistor as stock is only 15k just to make sure the VRM doesn't explode. Used said board I removed it on for a couple quads on LN2 but will note the VRM will run VERY Hot and 100% will need heatsinks and active cooling. If anyone else has anything they'd like to add feel free.

Hi, everyone. I'm looking for an nb volt mod for the 790i chipset. (EVGA 790i ultimate ftw digital pwm black pearl) Can someone help me? I saw that Roman modded his 790i. Therefore there must be a volt mod for this motherboard. @der8auer can you still remember how the mod worked? It's been a few years...

Hey Guys, unfortunately my DFI died some days ago. I didn't realize (had to look at some pics I took a few days back) but some SMD components underneath the socket lever where already fried before the board ultimately refused to reboot from a warmstart. Any chance fixing it? The Board still fires up but is showing only the 4 LED's of death and no beeping. I removed the molten plastic and I can't see any cut/burnt traces but also I don't know the values of the burnt parts. Thought it could be worth a try asking here for help. Any advise is welcome

Hi, I have DFI Lanparty NF4 with 2 ram slots non working. I saw also the other one for sale with the same issue. I'm wondering if anybody got the same issue and I'm thinking about possible repair. There are new NF4 chipsets on aliexpress for about 5$. There is also option to unsolder the chipset from other working board and solder it to DFI. Any input will be much appreciated. Those boards are getting harder and harder to get.

Vcore for the SC2643VXTS PWM controller is GNDSEN(Pin 6) to ground. Because GNDSEN(Pin 6) is grounded you have to solder directly to the pin(or try your luck with another ground point). 10K pot works great. I'm pretty sure FB(Pin 7) is Vdroop. But I haven't messed with it yet. Despite the horrible Vdroop on this board. I might get around to it eventually. Nope, done with this POS(see edit below). Anyway, I googled the Vcore mod for this board first, and all I came up with was a guy saying he did FB to ground and it didn't work for Vcore. No mention of it working for Vdroop or not. But the schematic seems to point to it as a likely candidate. Either…
