i lost the first channel at GOOC comp last week and changed boards only to find it was the IMC that was damaged
changed CPU as well all good
at home i am having that issue right now and it's the RAM kit that's dead/about to die >> Corsair 2000GT Dominators cries
in my experience it was faults with hardware unfortunately
[edit] i remember junior having this issue with asus R2E but i was a board issue there....weird

what is it with this forum
why does everyone thread crap in someone else's thread to make a point of something
why dont you just have a quiet word with moderators in providing them feedback and then let them decide on the best course of action
sorry for thread crapping hahahah
-
clearly they will be cheating
just look at how many different pieces of hardware they have
j/k
-
nice
sign up fellas :nana::woot:

oh shit
didnt know that
it seems RAMdrives are still not allowed right
bastards hehehe

Sorry about hurting everyone's eye. This score is too bad. I know I can do 40K+. If hwbot still accept MFT. I promise 40K+ is coming soon.

Any questions? Remove MFT or Not?
how did you get a valid link with such high XP startup

guys that claim are skillful and bench AMD need to reavaluate their benching FOR POINTS........you have to be on best hardware at the time as that's where you will also encounter the best overclockers of the time to achieve the best scores of the time and score points accordingly
AMD can really only still be benched for fun as its not up to par compared to Intel still....
thats the way I see it
if you adjust points system for those reasons you are also as a side effect trying to make it more even and all the things i talked about earlier
-
i have a feeling that they will make adjustments though
have a look at some of the responses
guys (mods) you have to be totally impartial when you make these decisions. do not for a second lose sight of what HWBOT has been all about up to now
dont ruin it
-
i do understand what you're saying
you cant really compare across benchmarks to determine how a memory based benchmark compares to raw MHz computation power based benchmark
wprime is purely CPU MHz
superPi is RAM efficiency
what you really need to do is email AMD if you think they are not optimising properly for superpi to resolve it not HWBOT to make adjustments
if you RAM wprime on old hyperthreaded P4 against K8 at such different frequencies you would come up with exactly the same conclusion >> K8 absolutely smashing P4 in Pi but losing wprime >> is K8 better than P4 >> WHO CARES...thats not the point at all..........[edit]looked up wprime hard to say but its roughly about 5% faster with same speed differential)
-
thats right
Intel is just a lot better at those benchmarks
it should not be penalised otherwise you open a pandora's box
what AMD needs to do is improve its processor to compete not HWBOT adjusting to compensate for their poor performance
as i said before we had a situation in the past where AMD K8 was FAAAAAAAR better than P4...it was even a bigger difference that this
-
when AMD K8 was hammering Intel P4 it was Intel owners disregarding the other side
this IS a fair comparison. why penalise a much better performing procesor
if you really allow AMD to be equal in points and SO much slower in real life are we then going to give trameta crusoe or via CPUs a fair go
are we going to then have separate Nvidia and ATI and make equal points even thought one dominates a certain benchmark compared to other like for example 3DMARK Vantage.....ATI is absolutely shit at it.....so are we going to now give them equal points because they are shit at it
this makes no sense
the current system works fine in my opinion and anything suggested by OP would be absolutely unfair to a much superiour tech of the day whether that is going to be Intel or AMD today or tomorrow it doesnt matter

lol i live like 5 minutes drive from the beach but i hardly go
maybe a couple of times a year lol
-
thanks man
thanks to Niko and George as well of course
i am going to start playing with E8600 again to revisit my 1M/pifast and some 3DMARK01/AM3 now that nvidia has a cool cat on the market
-
where do i download it from
btw
means the app you are trying to run yes?somekindofbench.exe -
dinos... ive gotten over a 8k jump in aq3 with some serious ram tweking....
seems aq3 likes ram freq better than tight timings...
also loves cpu freq... i ran it at at 5.3ghz... then at 5.5 ghz... and it was a pretty drastic jump
if there is anything i'm a tragic at it's RAM tweaking hehehe
its not that
i think he is talking about an actual tweak
-
@jmke: I am doing that for years with the help of a little app, helps e.g. AM3 drasticly. I described the procedure once on XS.org
my AM3 is always terrible
what is this trick you are talking about matey?
thanks for that link George :nana:
-
hi guys
not sure if this is the right section
i am not a big fan of the new user profile and would love to revert back to the old one that had benchmark categorised fields where i could see all my or other users benchmark submissions....would prefer that than using search function...bit of a pain in the arse

good to know dedal and neo are going to visit Latvia
look forward to their report

:nana::nana::nana::nana::nana:
damn it i knew someone would figure out my secret
-
yes you are frustrating me with your ridiculous comments
you need to sit down and think about what someone writes before you shoot off your mouth. it will probably make a conversation a lot more civilised
-
are you arguing for the sake of arguing or a little slow
did i say that he has to provide his best scores
look at the specific pieces of information provided in the thread
we are talking about for example just bein able to run RAM at 660MHz 4-4-4- 2.5vdimm stable on that Biostar board
that results is repeatable very very easily if the hardware really is capable of that
if it isnt it will be easy to find out
i am not saying he has to do the same times dumbass
-
and all I'm saying is that benching and good results is large part luck of the draw, timings and patience, things were are not easy to control in a public area.
5 different pieces of his OWN hardware
and a few days in russia whether during the show or not
that is PLENTY of time to pull off something decent
tapakah's results indicated that he is a supreme bencher with great troubleshooting experience....i dont know what your experience is like benching like this jmke but these results say a lot about the bencher as they do about kingpin, MM, hipro and others that are on top
-
my point is
he has lots of hardware which he benched with in the past that EVERYONE would consider gems
one of those will be able to reproduce these results
if it does I AM CONVINCED
very simple
-
of course i benched in public many times
here is an example of my first big bench
big show (ATOMIC Live...one of the biggest in australia)
massive audience
our LN2 tank was damaged and we had 7L of LN2 or something stupid like that to try and pull off some OCs
one of my first LN2 bench sessions
i never took this CPU to LN2 before personally but i knew it was a good overclocker
We(me/pro/moloko) did one of the highest ever frequencies for 32M on second go (first run crashed(superpi shot off) on 8th loop...we actually cold bugged it...YES we didnt even test for cold bugs ) with a lot of ppl watching including our main Intel contact who we just met not long before that who was going to hopefully start helping with hardware.....we only received this mobo the day before and did some quick FSB tests on DICE just to make sure we can do at least 550 which i was hoping to achieve......only moments before main show which was even scheduled for a certain time...So we had a specific time windows when we had to do this as well
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=163000
it was not a tweaked run but to pull of that frequency with a few litres of LN2 with such pressure is not a small task
i've done a lot of stuff before and after that including TV shows....
i know all about pressure benching

i have a kingston kit which is fine
i've also tortured my samsung based Corsair 1866 kit for ages
also fine
