  1. I always use xp drivers for xp and 7/8/10 drivers for 7 etc.

So you dont need to add support for OS into the driver if I recall correctly. Just use latest (non 980-ti compatible) xp drivers and add the cards into the inf file. ^^

If you have issues I can send you the inf file :)

I havent tried yet, gonna try tonight, but just in case do you have the inf file handy, if not no big deal.

  2. wow I just realized this.

There is something truly wrong when this isn't even the top score on the board and it's actually beat by a stock i3. Not picking on anyone because 742 is not easy and I havent been able to do it. But I really dont think it's in the same class as a true world record. I mean even the cpu is at insane speeds, and then 4 gpus and a total of 5 pots. We really should try a difficulty multiplier or something for 3d benching especially with more than 1 pot.

  3. I can't open the driver config with Nvidia Inspector. Is the driver just too old or am I missing something?

    Tried several different inspector versions.

I could be wrong but I know I have used this before with 8800 gts and 197.45+xp, all it needed was .net 2.0. I have been using riva tuner because I like it better but I wanted to test lod on ni vs riva.

Gonna go home and check again.

  4. I was thinking of trying to design something. A little square that would go around the die a couple mm in each direction. The same height as die. And then we fill up the square with paste so when we put the lid back it will keep the tim in place in a nice square with nice contact.

I dont know, just thinking of different ideas, would love to try it.

I have been having great full pot sessions. I wanted to see if it was possible to not change tim everytime. I had 2 sessions without cracks at full pot with same time, but third sessions cracked right away.

So I finally have to realize the paste has to change everytime like dancop said. Been going thru so much paste.

  5. SC, are you looking at a day or a whole weekend? People go through a LOT more LN2 at an event than they do on their own. If it's a whole weekend of 10+ hour benching on Saturday, I'd plan on closer to 100-120L per person. When we had 2000L with @moparman, there were probably 15 people there with maybe 7 or 8 benching at any given time. We benched throughout the night on Friday and Saturday and I believe we finished off the last drops on Sunday afternoon. Mopar should be able to confirm. If the per bencher LN2 figure above sounds crazy, keep in mind that you lose a reasonable amount of the LN2 when it comes through the hose on the 180L into a dewar and then you lose again when you pour from dewar to flask. A 180L tank is probably a bit over 130L benchable when considering all of the losses.

Note that my 100-120L figure above is before losses.... so with 25 people benching, you would want to get 2500-3000L. You could get 9 or 10 320L dewars.

EDIT: Also, keep in mind the retail prices on these tanks can be as much as $5k/ea. They may want a massive deposit or a line of credit tied to a business.

ya I just finished off my 180L and got just about 130L benching amount. And 2 of my tanks were cold. I think each person could use there own 180L tank. I wish it were a bit closer to NY because I have a great contact. When I order my 180L they charge me about $115 for the product, the rest is delivery and fees. I wonder for that many tanks how far they would be willing to driver. I dont think airgas delivers stuff like that.

  6. In general, you bench here for a couple of years now and are at extreme league, without being disrepectful you should already have had the time to see that practically all 3dms starting from 01 up to firestrike need a screenshot that show detailed subtests.... As said, I added it again because it is a 0,1 point score and with the option to check the subscores at the verification link, I did bend the rules in favour of you like I did for all other benchers at this challenger as well. This won´t happen again

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I completely understand, I am so sorry, If you look at my 2.5 years here I think this is the second sub I have ever had blocked, I try to be really respectful of the work it must take to police a contest like this and I appreciate it so much, I was up until 7am this morning getting all my subs in because I have been working so much, man I would have been so disappointed. With the free version you dont get the window in the program and I was having trouble stretching the internet window to show it properly. I will just buy it to avoid this in the future.

I really appreciate all you do and thanks so much for being a great moderator.

  7. http://hwbot.org/news/8624_application_29_rules/

Please check the rules and then check if your screenshot showed the mandatory subtest results... I gave you a reason for the block, and I did not do this light hearted

Oh man I just posted the link above, it never said link was necessary and if you look at all my old 3dmark 11 subs they are all that way and have never been taken down. This score is completely in line, I would never cheat on something like this. If this wasn't a comp that was already over I would never complain. I completely understand you have a job to do but please is there someone we can talk to.

  8. Is it because I used the internet result for the screenshot? The free version doesn't show the score in the program for me. I have the link here, it's a valid result, I didnt even tweak LOD. This would really suck because I submitted a little early just in case there was an issue.

I just checked all my previous 3dmark 11 subs and they are all that way and are not taken down. This is the way I have always done it. Please help. I tried so hard for this comp. It's the most up to date program and system info.

  9. http://hwbot.org/article/general_rules

The general rules apply, 1.2, so it is not allowed. I post the link to raise awareness of this, unreleased hardware and es hardware is only allowed if it is explicitly stated in the rules :)

My 3dmark11 submission disappeared from the round. It was definitely legit. I have the screenshot still. it still shows me as first place but shows 0 points for that stage. I also can't find it in hwbot.

  10. Just one quick run while I was trying voltages for CB,CBB and crack issue. Was at 1.820 v and -135 °C, a lot to learn yet, next time I hope hope go up with frequency and go down with temperature

The biggest thing I just learned from dancop's post was to not fool around with cpu at -100 to -130. I used to always do that but now straight to -160 and tweak from there. Also extending the die with the thermal paste. I had a 5 hour session without a single crack and it was completely full pot with pot totally full and -187 about under load. Those are the only 2 things I changed.

Good luck, looks like a really nice cpu.
