I've been keeping an eye to the prices of the octo cores on ebay (just for an estimate) but sounds a bit high.. Would it include postage? At the moment cash flow gone towards a 4770k and a 5960X for a gaming rig, so nothing spare right now, but it might be a consideration in a few months or so? I hope to get one thing cleared before buying anything further for PC hardware as my PC room is overflowing!! :lol:

I've recently managed to buy a non Crosshair board but I've only managed to find a few dual core CPU's to go in it at the moment.. Just for research, what sort of price would you be looking for the CPU on its own? I take it you might prefer to get rid of the CPU and board together tho?

Thanks for the comments guys, the loops just whats spare here :-) I think the sub is or has been changed to 855.. might have been my lack of sleep putting numbers in lol noticed a few doing that ;-) -

I'm not going to lie, it was hell lol I've updated the bios but now I need an unlocked CPU so I can lock the 6320 at 39x CPU multi and cache, got no chance with standard multi.. I'm moving on the the 1.92 bios and I'm trying my luck with that.. Then on to X99 and seeing what I can do with that. Only have a 5820k which I'm not sure how good an overclocker it is, but I'm sure to find out soon when I turn it on I can't wait!

Well with the 1.92 bios, it's the same, unless your overclocking the BCLK, in which case it does stay at the right speed.. Only problem is the obvious 100C temp reading... Not sure I'll be pushing it too hard, but we will give it a go and see how much luck holds out Ram can wait for a minute and we can just test the CPU.... After this is done, X99!!

I'm just going to try bios 1.92 and see if that allows me any luck with the Cache speeds, I will report back I've grabbed a few screen shots just to show if anyone is interested

I bought my board with a 1.30 version on it I think, I flashed it to 1.70 but still had this issue with the cache/multi speed.. There's just no option in the bios to change it but it states in the book that the CPU ratio/cache ratio will only show if you use a k CPU like 6600k/6700k... When I put this CPU in the board, it would show the right speed in the bios but when I upped the BCLK, in Windows it would loose the 39x multi and drop to 38x multi as well as a 38x cache speed.. as you can see below: It's done just that now with the reflash of the bios, so I need a K chip to unlock it so I can lock the multi at 39x not 38x.. Damn shame I won't be cracking that 740 point score that has broken me for the past 4 days.... and some....

I'm going to... Maybe that might be fixed in the newer bios but had it the last time, all the overclocking options where taken away.. bit of a pain in the bottom as I'll need another CPU to do it lol ugh.. Lets see

I was more so worried about the cache speed etc? How will that work if I flash it? When I swapped over the 6600k to the 6320 the CPU ratio etc was all messed up and it wouldn't run at it's max speed... Any ideas? I had to swap back to the 6600k to get back the CPU ratio locked at x39, same as the cache speed.. Is there any way around it?

Sorry I mean't bios 1.70 lol I've taken mine up to 2.16v and they still ok lol

I'm running 1.7 at the moment, would that be my problem? Only problem with updating the bios, will I loose my cache speed/settings etc?

I wish I could but it won't even post around 3980, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with the 6320 chip.. I'm not sure the ram will work at much lower timings for some reason it just seems to give me errors on bootup... I will try it before I go to bed.. I don't want it to beat me!! :lol:

I have managed this with a 6600k but I can manage this with a 6320 I have at the moment... I'm just struggling with gaining that extra point in XTU for 740... I wish I knew what I was doing wrong!! When might Sammy B be out and on what memory sticks?

I'm wondering what's a good set of ram for this board?? Currently have some G Skill Ripjaw 5's and can do C11 @ 1900 and a bit but I just can't seem to get the next divider to work Me thinks ram not quite as good as I need it to be... Can anyone suggest anything?? Looking at a quad channel kit so I can use it with my X99 rigs too....

Thank you sir I should really be in bed, but I'm chasing for that extra point!! damn it!! lol!! In bed for 2am otherwise, 3 hours of sleep v a 12.5 hour shift might not work so very well!!
