  1. I only quoted the parts I have something to say about.

They are discouraged by the real fact , that an everyday high-end system , (that costs a lot of money) benchmarks to receive 1.5 points , cause it's in the same boat with the "special" hardware.

This is not true, if you are good enough then you can get decent points with the current gen systems.

Does the 4790K look like a part that belongs in an "everyday high-end system".

Look how many points I got for my submission a few days back

There is nothing "special" about this setup whatsoever, it done with an H100i. The CPU is bought in retail & not binned by anyone special except me. (Picked the best out of 2, guess I got lucky). And I spent my time hunting down double-sided Samsung, but everyone who is actually serious about Overclocking knows that you need either PSC or Samsung to get good result with DDR3. These are regularly sold on hwbot or other enthusiast forums. Personally I'm myself pretty pissed at the current DDR3 scenerio.

    "Look tasos" they tell me.

"The current gen Titan card , was paper launched yesterday ... and we already have tehth's of results already at HWBOT counting as retail parts"

That's just one of the examples.

While this clarifications only apply to this specific scenario, I'll still put it out there.

Except matose & rsnubje all other TitanX results are from 'retail' parts. A lot of OCN people bought TitanX's on launch day with one day shipping. Those are the results that have been on the Frontpage from the past days.

    So this example is flawed.

Bottom line its possible to be competitive in your own league & receive points if you are good at it.

  2. Crazy scores in Stage 4, only a VERY low number of chips make +5GHz for XTU without extreme cooling, lets see if someone can reach +1300 with water...

Can be done, its just hard..

People with Delided chips & water chillers(not sure if allowed) are gonna dominate. Also would have been nice if this target was in some earlier stages when it was Winter outside, since I have a mere H100i, I need lower ambient temps.

  3. Nice.

Can't wait till HWBOT enables points on this Bench, so people have more to do with their AMD VGAs except Heaven. Even in Heaven the 980s have surpassed AMD, but hopefully that will change with the next Gen.

As for the different mix & match of cards, I am pretty sure you will break HWBOT.

So they'll have to find a way to fix that or maybe you'll have to find a way to disable it.

  4. LoL , You cant change things after event is finished, you must do it in advance! For example i had to take few days off work and to buy some HW i dont need now to finish at top overal in time ........ tc tc bad mat, bad

From what I understand, the Noctua prizes remain while EK added more prizes on top of it.

Plus as per the old rules you had to finish in Top 3 overall in the competition instead of a stage to get a prize. Now if you finish in the top of 3 of CPU stage 1 & are not in the Top 3 overall, you still get a prize.

This is a win win except that you might have more competition due to the time extension.

  5. Nah.

    Pretty sure its single sided.

I see chips on the front,on the other side there is just one straight continuous strip, which is probably a thermal pad.

You sure you not thinking about the C9 ones, which are usually Double sided Hyko.

According to the information in the XS DDR3 thread, this is Hynix CFR.
