This is what the introduction says: Y-Cruncher is a program that computes Pi and other constants to billions/trillions of digits. It currently holds the world record for the most digits of Pi ever computed (13.3 trillion digits) as well as a bunch of other less popular constants. Y-Cruncher is also the first Pi computing program that can a) use multiple threads for a worthwhile speedup, b) use (and stress) an unlimited amount of memory and c) utilize ISA extensions (SSE, AVX, etc...) for nearly all modern processors. Y-Cruncher owner Mysticial developed a GUI that can run and submit results to HWBOT. This competition is to best test the submitter. More information in the forum thread. Does that help?

For now, the same rules apply to Y-Cruncher as to other benchmarks without HPET detection. Win8/10 allowed for Skylake, but not the others (in short).

I'd like to hear what the folks who participate in the Old School is Best School competition think about this. Is there more enthusiasm for the team competition or the general team ranking?

just some personal thoughts After his performance in the MOA 2016 Europe in France last week, where he won the qualifier with a kit provided only 10 minutes before the start and got to the final with the worst CPU draw, I have the feeling Dancop might be one of the most complete benchers in overclocking history. I can't recall anyone who was so dominant in the Overclockers League and also performed exceptional in the live competitions. Dancop also won the AOOC alongside BenchBros, which is a different format than the World Series. Maybe his only weakness is the technical skill-set which set people like Hipro5, Elmor, Shamino and der8auer in a category above Dancop. Other notable overclockers like Kingpin, AndreYang, Hipro5, etc never really shined in competitive overclocking environments. Xtreme Addict is on the same level, but not quite as dominant in the Overclockers League (although is competition record is stronger at the moment). What do you guys think? My memory might not be serving me right at the moment. But seeing Dancop at work in the MOA 2016 Europe qualifier and quarter/semi-final last weekend left a strong impression on me.

Sure, but that would not solve the problem. The XTU results are triggering ranking and point updates. Whether it's instantly or delayed (from another server), the update scripts will always trigger.

Another update from our side. As you may have noticed, the past couple of months were very busy for us as we had to prepare for the World Tour events in Brazil, South Africa and France. It's a bit quieter for me in the next month, so I will be able to finish the R7 proposal. Very recently you may have also noticed some problems with the HWBOT submit function. Especially those present at our last WT event will know. From what we gather based on the server logs and reports, the issues are due to the way R6 is designed and our database structure. Once a heavy load action is ongoing on our database, the MySQL database locks all impacted rows until all queries are completely finished. The R6 calculation method requires all results in a certain global or hardware ranking to be updated. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, updating one result affects other update query triggers such as updating the User Total, the League Ranking, Notifications, Achievements, etc. I hate to say this again, but with XTU throwing so much data at our servers it's not surprising the current calculation method is stretching our servers. To give you a figure, in January alone we had to process 80,000 data requests from XTU. The calculation method for R7 will reduce the transaction load by a great margin, luckily.
