I'll come by too, this session is always fun.

The 4GB modules are built with Hynix A-die 4Gbit.
-
hey guys, does anyone know if this is the new die from hynix we were talking about a couple pages ago? Would love to try them cold on this board, finally going to start using it tonight.
Yes, these are using Hynix M-die 8Gbit memory chips.

The pretested CPUs can run 1h Prime95 1344K at 4.5 - 4.8 GHz (depending on the category) on air below 1.40 Volt without delidding.
I think that's the difference, very few people in the batch thread test their chips with Prime95 for 1 hour. Stability difference between SPi 32M and Prime95 is pretty big.

AFR replaces MFR so yes anywhere there was MFR there is now AFR....
-
"- You need FPT 1194 to flash this BIOS (see first page)."
-
yep I think it's a safe bet they will be AFR.
-
AFR is replacing MFR basically so it is already used on every SKUs (availibility for end user depends on the stock of MFR in the channel).
-
HyperX yes.
-
you should be able to find AFR on retail modules right now (2133 to 3000).
-
Yes, once we have all 10 finalists we will ship the motherboards.
We have them here ready to ship.
-
Awesome! Clearly makes Skylake Extreme OC easier.
-
Thanks everyone for participating! Very happy to see some new names in the top spots.
-
Last year was pretty similar, it was just separate qualifier for each regions.
1 spot is will be randomly given to anybody who made it in the top 20 and did not qualify, 1 lucky spot for 12 people is not too bad.

Which special boards are we talking about?
The whole point of banning some boards is to make sure we get a competition as fair as possible, I think it's no mystery that it will never be perfect.
The Impact was the most problematic one because we saw it has an edge with memory on a lot of Z170 mobos and only a selected few got one for now. I think there are no debate on this one, I put the SOC Force LN2 in the same category, we know it exists but if you are not a GBT ocer or very close to GBT HQ you can't have access to it.
It's difficult for me to say that the SOC Force or the M8E are as widely available as the OCF or the XPower. The last 2 were released weeks ago where the first 2 are more problematic to find.
-
I can only find it available on ocuk so I guess same as the Impact, not allowed.
-
DS 16GB AFR should be interesting.
There won't be any, the AFR you are thinking about is a 4Gbit chip. The 8Gbit chip is different.
-
You don't, there are not HyperX AFR retail as of now so it's ES I guess.
Maybe talk to the people that gave it to you.
-
13-13-13 is really not an ideal spec for AFR, that's for sure.
-
MFR is still relevant looking at the 5th place... 1989 @5860 but of course you need to run cold memory like you would have to with AFR.
-
The X99M Killer/3.1 mobo is 1DPC (DIMM Per Channel) while the Z170 is 2DPC, it would be quite ackward for the X99 mobo to have big difference for each slots. But on Z170 if one memory bank is good and the other not as much on each channel then it only affects OC when you use 4 modules.
-
The OCF is different than the other mobos, you really need to use the black slots because of the memory traces layout.

That's seems a bit much just for accommodation, you don't have to stay on the Strip.
I'll be there for work.
