  2. of course, this is BS man. If you want to review anything, you HAVE TO unveil full potential and show it to readers. These first results were wrong, now i have this feature DISABLED forever in CPU reviews HDD ...
  3. this register is disabling Core Parking in Windows 7 ... there is BUG for Hyper-Threading CPUs ... When is enabled (value 64) HT cores are sleeping ... in WinRAR (look at resource monitor NOT performance monitor), when disabled ALL cores are fully working ... and Multi-thread results in WinRAR are great!
  4. Big error in ALL reviews (mine too) ... AMD FX-8150 King of WinRAR! Real results! after Power management OFF! Change it in there: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 (ValueMax from 64 to 0) and enjoy WinRAR ride on Intel HT CPUs!
  5. this is "normal" for SNB-E! MSI sent this info to reviewers, EIST + Turbo have to be ENABLED when manulal OC. And Asus has it too, but Automaticaly. Look at Asus options in bios in Manual mode chioces are grey, but ENABLED!
  6. If i change VCC in BIOS for example 1.4V, in windows is still +/- 1.26V. Ocing is little bit tricky here. You HAVE TO Enable EIST and Turbo for manual OCing ... but Intel said it in materials of course.
  7. of course, you have to set another option there ... :By Core defaults: this feature has Asus boards from 1155 launch ...
  8. someone with UD5 here? - i have problem with voltages, i can change it in BIOS but it is still at default ... next strange thing is multi, i have for example 45, but in bios is still default 32/33 ...
  9. MSI has it in last BIOS too, because Asus has it i all BIOses from LGA 1155 launch
  10. great, but ive tested it 150-165 and nothing, my CPus are not capable ... they are from 97 percent which cant handle it ...
  11. Andre - It's only 1~3% cpus boot up on strap 166. WTF? Really? Eldonko - show us 4GHz+ clocks with 160 BCLK, its for maxing locked CPUs ... not for K a nd X
  12. in MSI OC Guide is screenshot with 160 MHz, but no board here can handle it ...
  13. anyone with any X79 board and working second CPU strap? (1,66). I have five boards here, but max is 130 MHz (Strap 1,25)
  14. I thinks she will be OK, but is here someone with Giga samples? Or only our european ass is affected ...
  15. dino, where are Giga samples? Its first time in last ten years i have MSI sample before Giga sample .... maureen sent me weird date of samples expedition, whats wrong with Giga this time?
  16. Maybe its time to start this thread here, i am not sure i can publish BIOSes, i will ask at first ... stay tuned.
  17. Sam OCZ - i dont know, nothing is under SoF - i was wrong, there are holes but sealed by the rubber, but its possible to puncture them
  18. massmans heatsink - MSI boards ARE CRAP! Ive killed 3 MSI board last month because burned mosfet ...
  19. BCLK is not limited! 80-300 MHz in 0.1 MHz steps CPU Straps for easy OCing - 100/125/166/250 Mem max 2400 MHz Absolutely crazy Cooler retention system, WTF! No results till NDA date, sorry ...
  20. UPDATED - on Asus + Gigabyte everything work perfectly now. MSI has new BIOS, Turbo is working now, but overclocking is impossible and software does not work too, still. Why they released that CRAP? - Like allways they did ... tragic company.
  21. hehe, you have everything listed above ... But i have pics and screenshots
  22. Three motherboars in test: Asus Crosshair V Formula, MSI 990FXA-GD80, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7. My third ES Sample. I am 99.7% sure this new-one is based on complete final silicon. First sample i had was crap, like many others on taobao/eBay/chinese forums. That chips has serious problem with L3 cache with drastical impact to performance. They are good clockers, but its wasting of time because performance. Part 1 Motherboard support: Asus Crosshair V Formula: Tested BIOS 0009/0027/0028. Absolutely great FX support, in first BIOS fully works Turbo, CoolnQuiet, Changing CPU multi, Overclocking. OC Button is working too. Everything works fine with no problem. TurboEVO is fully functional too. You can change everything, voltage, multis (for each Core separately). Really fast a stable utility. Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7: Tested BIOS F3/F4b/C6. First BIOS is really bad with FX. Turbo is not working, CnQ too. Its impossible to change multis, absolutely unusable. Next one (F4b) is better, CnQ is working + changing multis working. Turbo is still unsupported (because C6 state missing). Today ive received new (alpha) version C6, results later here ... we are working together with Giga-lab on solution. UPDATE - BIOS C6 solved all problems. Turbo + CnQ + multis are working now. With this is UD7 ready for FX. Software will test in few days. Easy Tune 6 is unusbale. Its not supporting new CPUs, you cannot to do anything there. Will test today new version too ... MSI 990FXA-GD80: Tested BIOS B10/B11/B21. Its working NOW! But all BIOSes has problem with 1866 mem/divider. Wait for fix till monday. OverClockin Center software is not working, will wait till monday for newest version. Overclocking on AIR: (Asus board) @default voltage - rock stable 4400 MHz @1.53 voltage - rock stable 4850 MHz @1.59 voltage - superpi stable 5150 MHz BCLK OverCloking Memories OverCloking 2470 MHz on AIR fully benchable, 2510 MHz max AIDA64 benchmark stable freq. Update soon ...
