  1. I recently dug out my old NF7 to bench some Bartons, but i now have the problem, that the FSB is stuck at 100 any changes don't apply in BIOS.

The strange thing is, that all other BIOS settings seem to apply fine multi, RAM divider and timings get saved propperly (even though the board doesn't reboot after the warning screen)

Things i have tried so far:

2 BIOSes on 2 diffrent chips 1x Infrared BIOS and 1x Manta Rays

Raising the FSB in windows --> got up to 117 then crash

multiple BIOS resets, all diffrent RAM channels one old unlocked and a newer locked barton...

Hope someone with socket A experience can help me...

OCN is open to 775 lovers. :D

We have issues with our forum being a bit dead, but we're trying to sort that out and have a busy team chat.

OCN it is (at least if I haven't crashed the bot) :D Have been looking in your direction for quite a while, if the chat is not on facebook (which i hated, even before it was cool to do so) I'm in  :)

@TASOS I'm sorry but benching in a purely greek team just doesn't feel right to me (not that I don't like you guys, but that's kinda like me joining team AU (not the user), i'd stick out like a soar thumb) :)

  3. They are not that hard to find imo. I allready ordered 3 3200+ for 15€ (to be fair shipping is another 5€) but for the 3400+ i'll wait how that plays out here (due to relatively high cost, around 35€):)

On an other note anyone wants me in their team?  Cause doing team cup solo is kinda boring (since you can only submit 1 score per stage) and I'd like to enjoy the full experience :)

  4. Yep booting higher helps but only linear i.e. booting 400MHz instead of 395 lifts the bug to 405 instead of 400...

I will try a brandnew XP install tomorrow...

At least it's  only a display bug, so benches are not affected, you just need to use antique CPU-Z to have the right Frequency displayed :)

  5. I just discovered a strange issue when raising FSB using SetFSB in Win XP, when I add more than 5MHz of FSB the multiplier starts to drop.

This only seems to appear in XP, I used the same version of SetFSB in Win 7 x64 and it worked just fine (both CPU-Z 1.85)...

Setup used was a ASUS P5E64-WS EVO and a Pentium E5800 but I also had the same issue on a EP45-UD3R but with 10MHz above boot-FSB...

EDIT: Seems like a CPU-Z bug, CPU-Z 1.63 displays the right multi, but I can't use that to validate for obvious reasons :(

EDIT2: The CPU itself isn't lowering clocks at all, spi runs are nearly the same within the 1MHz where the bug accurs...

Anyone ever had a simmilar problem and might know a fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  6. Selling some stuff I don't need, Mainboards are tested but not for max. FSB, the Maximus Extreme can be looked up in my hardware libary.

1: Gigabyte EX38T-DQ6 (X38 with DDR3) board comes with IO-Shield, never used for oc: SOLDIMG_0202.JPGIMG_0203.JPGIMG_0204.JPG

2: ASUS Maximus Extreme (X38 with DDR3), solid Board, results can be found in my profile w/o IO-Shield: SOLDIMG_0205.JPGIMG_0206.JPG

I'll include decent (top 10%) E7400s as socket protectors with the boards

3: EVGA X58 SLI, boards is modded for 6-Core  Xeons, used in my HT-PC, no idea how it clocks, VRM Heatsink slightly bend: SOLDIMG_0207.JPGIMG_0208.JPGIMG_0209.JPG

4: MSI Z77 Mpower, board does 109.3 FSB with locked sandys (at least that's the max I managed in a quick test) comes with IO-Shield only: SOLD

    5/6: 2 i5 750s both chips do arround 4,75GHz CB R15 and most other benches on SS @~1,55V : 20€ eachIMG_0211.JPG

Shipping is not included, shipping to EU is 5€ for the CPUs and 16€ for the boards, for international shipping please ask for quote :)

  7. Looking for ASUS CT-479 if anyone has one they are willing to part with, PM me :)

EDIT: Also looking for an ASUS a C-P6S1 while I'm at it :)

yeah crazy to see you do fsb every 5 Mhz and never anything in between :D

I am glad you don t like tweaking :D but with your chip you should be able to get in spi32m top3 scores, probably #2. I can do #5 with 150 Mhz less than your frequency... :D

what are your full 4-4-4-4 28 timings? your d9gmh ram won t do trfc 20-21 ?

your chip has a Vid of 1.15V, which is very nice. would you have the batch number?
I ve had L847C Vid=1.1625 and currently L845B Vid=1.175V, but on air/chilled water they heat up too much (more leakage current perhaps?) and are less stable than those with higher Vid, (1.23, 1.25, 1.26, 1.28, batch L828b, L835B, L845B, L846B) which heat up less.

Low Vids "should" be better on cold, a bit like yours i d say...

CPU is L845B869, haven't tryed TRFc 20 no idea, what the subs are, left everything except primarys and trfc at auto :)

I might try measuring power draw, shouldn't be too much at 1,74V the cascade runs -90 under x265...
