Posted October 25, 201014 yr Hey all! I've been playing with this board for about a week now; just testing how the bios goes and playing with the Intel GMA HD overclocking capabilities. Haven't gone totally extreme yet (read: liquid nitrogen), so only -25°C single stage cooling for now. PICTURES (bios V1.2) VIDEOS: I also put two videos up on Youtube. The first one is a quick walkthrough for the people who have never overclocked the Clarkdale IGP. Just explaining the basic stuff. The second one is a funny video of the IGP going crazy when the system memory is clocked too far. Enjoy. VOLTAGE MODIFICATIONS OVERCLOCKING RESULTS: AIR COOLING: 1097MHZ, SINGLE STAGE COOLING: 1235MHZ [hwbot=1069611]submission[/hwbot] [hwbot=1069606]submission[/hwbot]
October 25, 201014 yr Author Awaiting the new bios with increase Vcore and Vigp limitations for higher clocks. Will be posting a performance scaling graph in the next couple of days as well
October 26, 201014 yr Author i have the h57 board....i just need to look for the 750ohm resistor right? Just look for the resistor linked to this socket pin: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s261/Massman-/mod.jpg
October 26, 201014 yr Just look for the resistor linked to this socket pin: http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s261/Massman-/mod.jpg thanks boss ..i'll post pic later on..
October 27, 201014 yr Author As expected, the Vaxg has an extremely strict OVP. Max I can run is 1.53V with the highest voltage set in the bios (1.448V). So, we'll need the OVP as well. The easiest way would, however, be a bios that allows us to set ALL VID settings for the igp ...
October 31, 201014 yr Can others MSI's H55 follow the same resistor's values for the mods?? Edited October 31, 201014 yr by gnidaol
October 31, 201014 yr Author whats the word with the bios? wish they have an "extreme" bios Nothing so far . Can others MSI's H55 follow the same resistor's values for the mods?? If they use the same Vreg and the stock resistance is the same - yes.
October 31, 201014 yr I'll check the resistances, but I'm sure that the Vreg is different.. but I know what is each pin, so I just need be lucky to be the same values... It's really annoying this really low BIOS voltage limits... Thanks anyway
October 31, 201014 yr Author If the Vreg chip is different, you'll need to look up the datasheet of that IC.
October 31, 201014 yr Yes, I looked at the data sheet but it doesn't tell me resistance values(I guess that is MSI that should tell me that)... I think I'll try something like yours resistances if I measure similar original values among equivalent pins... I really hope it works... Thank you Edited November 1, 201014 yr by gnidaol
November 4, 201014 yr Anyone tested the Vcore mod?, anyone can change the Vcore on the Fly? i have killed my I3 560 by doing it .
November 4, 201014 yr Author Anyone tested the Vcore mod?, anyone can change the Vcore on the Fly? i have killed my I3 560 by doing it . Yes, I just tested it and the voltage goes up quite rapidly, so you might want to use a higher value for VR. Were you monitoring the Vcore while increasing?
November 4, 201014 yr Author W00t! Found a new bios in my mail ... 2.081V Vaxg (IGP) Just flashed it ... works fine just stock. Hooking up the single stage tonight to see the effect . Download link: LINK Be careful!
November 4, 201014 yr It's sad not to have one of those to E33 =( But anyway, Let's try to mod something that looks to never been modded before... Hope not to kill the cpu like my (e)killer friend did =/
November 4, 201014 yr Author Any other boards that are going to be used for the IGP contest? If yes, please let me know what models and I'll try to push MSI for providing more extreme bioses
