Posted May 10, 201510 yr yes i'm new to the process, excuse the pun, and i have a question about speedstep. when my processor is at rest or less than 5% usuage, my cpu frequency is running at 3.4ghz. when i start a benchmark, it fluctuates tremendously. my question is, why wouldn't it ramp down when the processor is barely being used, instead of staying so high? i have turned speedstep off and then back on again, of course with the restarts needed, and it is still doing it. any help is appreciated.
