pci-e problem

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. Yesterday my power supply died, and I think he destroyed the PCI- E

slot. I checked with another power supplier, and have stripes on the screen. I tried two different cards and still same problem. When I connect the monitor directly to the processor gpu (hd 530 ) I have smooth image and no problem.

When I checked visually the board, I saw some part a little bit black on the other side of the board. The part indicated in red on the picture.

Is this part related to PCI-E ? can i replase it ?

That's a 24MHz crystal that connects to the PCH. I doubt this is your problem, but if you want to replace it the spec is 24MHz 20pF/15ppm DIP 49US.

Honestly I have no idea, it's a very strange problem. Is it the same if you try it in the second PCI-E 16x slot or the last PCI-E 4x slot from the PCH? Can you RMA the board?
