cbjaust Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 there appears to be some inconsistency with multiple gpu graphics cards. For example how are havli`s 3DMark 99 Max score: 8347 marks with a Rage Fury MAXX and kotori`s 3DMark 99 Max score: 9441 marks with a Rage Fury MAXX in the 1 x Rage Fury Maxx category when scores such as kotori`s 3DMark 99 Max score: 11715 marks with a Rage Fury MAXX are listed as 2 x Rage Fury Maxx when in all cases the scores were made with a single Rage Fury Maxx which happens to have 2 GPUs on the one card. I've seen other examples as well, like the nVidia GeForce 7950GX2 like zzolio`s Aquamark score: 342138 marks with a GeForce 7950 GX2 listed as 2 x when its just a single card... What is the rule, because in the case of the Fury Maxx, all of the results should be in one category but they are not. Cheers Quote
Crew Strunkenbold Posted May 15, 2017 Crew Posted May 15, 2017 We are aware of the problem. The card was changed from 1x to 2x GPU lately to match the real GPU count. Old submissions stayed as single cores and there is a technical problem to change them to the correct core count. Quote
cbjaust Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 Does that mean the intention is to have the categories as per GPU? Searching submissions is confusing though because for instance searching for say GeForce 9 series in 2001 SE and selecting 1 for the amount gives the results with the 9800GX2 results at the top of the list but it is excluded when you change the amount to 2 where it the 9800 GTX (+) that tops the listing. it appears that the description will say 2 x 'Card Name' when it has two GPUs but it ranks as if its a single card... As an example is it the intention "2x GeForce 9800 GX2" and "2x GeForce 9800 GTX(+)" (both 2x G92 GPUs) to be ranked together in the future? My opinion is that the categories should be per card but describe the card so it is stated to have 2 GPUs like maybe "1x GeForce 9800 GX2 (2x G92), or something. Cheers Quote
Administrators websmile Posted May 17, 2017 Administrators Posted May 17, 2017 There is no problem with dual gpu cards- they are normally listed as one card like at the 7950gx2 ranking. For global and wr these count to 2x GPU, that´s all. If you click 2x cards, you will see 2 7950x2 used is listed as 4x gpu at global and wr. That´s all, 2x9800GTX(+) for example are two cards while 9800GX2 is one card that has its own ranking. Nothing to be changed there Quote
Crew Strunkenbold Posted May 17, 2017 Crew Posted May 17, 2017 As an example is it the intention "2x GeForce 9800 GX2" and "2x GeForce 9800 GTX(+)" (both 2x G92 GPUs) to be ranked together in the future? No why should they? 2x GeForce 9800 GX2 results in 4 GPU cores, means it shows up in Geforce 9000 Series 4x ranking 2x GeForce 9800 GTX(+) results in 2 GPU cores, means it shows up in Geforce 9000 Series 2x ranking This is the correct behavior. The reason why you are confused, is that there was an error while the Rage Fury Maxx was added to the db. The card is a dual GPU card, but the GPU count in the db was 1x instead of 2x. This was corrected some weeks ago. The problem is, that submissions which were created earlier still are ranked as 1x GPU core count. Unfortunately for us, if I make a change in the db, it doesnt mean that those old subs change their core count automatically. Those submission needs to get fixed manually, but due technical problems it hasnt happen yet. So thats why we have currently two rankings for Rage Fury Maxxx, once technical problems have been solved, a single Rage Fury Maxx should appear in the 2x Rage 128 ranking. Which is the correct behavior for dual GPU cards. Quote
