June 25, 20197 yr I will be installing Windows 7 on a few PCs over the next couple of weeks, for GPU benching. Is there a way to trick it into getting updates, or does anyone know of a resource to download essential updates beyond SP1?
June 25, 20197 yr I haven't found a need for updates past SP1. There are a few things you may need like dotnet 3.5 and such, but those are standalone and not part of the updates. In a very rare case you need a standalone update for W7 to make HWinfo in GPUPI work, but technically that's not even required for Hwbot rules. Was there something in particular you needed the updates for?
June 25, 20197 yr Author I'll only be using the system for benchmarking (and possibly for testing any software I write, but benching is the reason for the builds). I don't know how necessary the updates are for that. I will always be connected to the internet, so it's more a precaution than anything.
