SparkysAdventure Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 (edited) Seems Renoir might be another viable option for OC. Screens from Facebook: Not sure if 2333 is the limit, as the processor isn't even released. Also saw that it has a 4:1 mode available (5600 mem and 1400 fabric). If this chip keeps fabric clocks under cold it could really bring the heat to the 9900k/10700k for geek 3. Would like to say not my cpu and not my screen. Likely came from somewhere on chiphell. flanker Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Yeah, it is from Chinese TecLab guy, he is good also in XOC. I saw, he has also new XT Ryzens in hands. Quote

SparkysAdventure Posted July 17, 2020 Author Posted July 17, 2020 It's a shame that the Crosshair VIII Impact doesn't have any video out. Maybe the best motherboard for iGPU/memory overclocking with Raven Ridge is the B550 Phantom Gaming-ITX/ax? Hoping for XOC support. The X570 Aqua would be good in theory, but sounds overkill and 4dimm could hurt mem oc. Quote
flanker Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 u can add dedicated card and benching CPU alone . reason is simple. U have limited space on C8I for vcore phases and u need OCed on this board 3950X also with LN2 I think, very good alternatvie to Impact, but with video outputs, is : https://www.asus.com/cz/Motherboards/ROG-Strix-X570-I-Gaming/ Quote
SparkysAdventure Posted July 17, 2020 Author Posted July 17, 2020 @flanker I don't think that board has support for XOC Quote

IvanCupa Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 Renoir review must be release on this day (21 July 2020). Interesting indeed! First come as mobile chip, scaled into desktop chip. That so called 1900MHz FCLK limit seems gone, finally! Interesting IGP, lower CU but high freq. Monolithic design (both core & SoC at same die at 7nm), Lower temps & power? ? That's all we know so far. Can't wait to try in cold, maybe just any decent B550 board is enough. So many B550 board specs / validation design is way more than the X570 counterparts. ? The MiniITX B550 board are interesting. ? 1 Quote

I've told people this many many times but they don't listen. it's why latency is poor. It why we have struggled to clock ram although they kinda but not really fixed that on 3000 lets just say they unlinked it but the results were not what they were "hoping" for. They needed the chiplet gone but...I'm not sure how it will impact other results and I am also not sure how they will deal with multiple die product like 3900/3950 without it. Midnight703 Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 I have been hearing that b550 is better with renoir than x570 as the chipset doesnt seem to play as well with these processors. Anyone have that same experience? Quote
SaskOCGuy Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 I think most agree it's better to a point. If you are after Bclk it's definitely better. Quote
